Upcoming programs at Chili Public Library

The Chili Public Library is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday hours (1 to 4 p.m.) begin October 7.

Infant Storytime (for those up to 24 months of age) begins Tuesday, September 11 and runs for five weeks. Storytime at 11 a.m. and registration is required.

Intermediate, or above, children chess players may register for the Saturday, September 15 Chess Tournament. The tournament will run from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Registration is limited.

Book Bingo for adults started September 10 and will run until October 19. Read five books of the genres listed in any row, column, or diagonal on a bingo board and win a prize.

Register for the free hour Introductory Internet class and/or the E-mail class. Internet will be taught Tuesday, September 11 at 9:15 a.m. and the E-mail class is scheduled for Tuesday, September 25 at 9:15 a.m. These classes will be taught on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month during the school year.

Kids' Chess will be held Thursday, September 13 and September 27 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Kaplan is presenting a free Practice SAT Test on September 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call the library to register for this program.

Donald Hall, former director of the Strasenburgh Planetarium and a collectable glass expert, will speak on Depression glass at the library on Tuesday, September 18 at 7 p.m. The public is invited to bring in pieces of Depression glass for possible identification, as well as see some of Hall's collection. Registration is not required.

Two free movies will be shown on Thursday, September 20. A classic film for adults will be shown from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at "Lunch With the Stars." Bring a bag lunch. Drinks and popcorn will be provided. A children's movie will be shown at 6:30 p.m. with popcorn and drinks provided.

A First Library Card Party will be held on Saturday, September 22 at 1 p.m. This is for anyone up to age 12 who has received his or her library card since September 2006. Registration is required.

There will be an informational Montessori program for parents on Monday, September 24 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Baby's Morning Out, a free play group for children up to 3 years of age, is held the first Saturday of every month from 10 to 11 a.m. The next one will be October 6. Toys are provided and parents must stay with their children. There is no registration for this program.

Chili Public Library will be closed Monday, October 8 for Columbus Day. Call the library at 889-2200 for registration information.
