Madison Klafehn

Golf tournament to benefit infant

Madison Klafehn, daughter of Lisa and Dustin Klafehn of Churchville, will be the recipient of funds raised during a September 24 golf tournament.

Madison was born with Krabbe Disease, the same one that afflicted the son of former Buffalo bills quarterback Jim Kelly and his wife, Jill. The couple started the Hunter's Hope Foundation to raise awareness of the disease that claimed their son's life.

Madison was born three months before state-wide testing for the disease was implemented. In a press release, her grandmother, Diane Rypma, asked individuals to support the tournament to help raise funds to offset the cost of medications and testing for Madison.

The tournament will be Monday, September 24 at the Brockport Country Club, 3739 Monroe Orleans County Line Road. Registration and lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Dinner, hole sponsorships and donations are accepted and can be mailed to Madison's Mission, c/o Entercom Rochester, 70 Commercial Street, Rochester, NY 14614.

Call Mike Davis at 423-2918, Rypma at 594-3347, Angela Colt at 943-3347 or Trisha Feldt at 690-9560 for information.
