Monroe County 4-H program celebrates National 4-H Week

Monroe County is celebrating National 4-H Week with a series of informational sessions across the county. Current families, volunteers, and members will be joining the discussions to share their experience with potential new members.

Sessions for Monroe County youth and families interested in learning more about 4-H will be

•Thursday, September 27 in Hilton from 7 to 8:30 p.m. (Village Community Center, 59 Henry Street, Ingham Room, Hilton, 14468)

•Thursday, October 4 in Churchville from 7 to 8:30 p.m. (Riga Town Hall, Multipurpose Room, 6460 Buffalo Road, Churchville, 14428)

4-H is in every community across America - urban, suburban and rural. 4-H families can participate in projects like animal science, cooking and healthy living, the environment and the outdoors, public speaking, and the County Fair. The fundamental 4-H ideal of practical, "learn by doing" experiences encourage youth to experiment, innovate and think independently.
