Artistic fundraiser at Red Bird Tea Shoppe

On October 12, the Red Bird Tea Shoppe will host its second annual fundraiser for the Monroe County Breast Cancer Coalition. This year the fundraiser will feature the works of artist Lori Uderitz-Zeno and Craig Lohsen as well as free refreshments and door prizes.

Uderitz-Zeno is a graduate of Brockport High School and SUNY College at Brockport. She moved to Long Island when she was marred in 1988 and is the mother of two children, Zachary and Zoe. After 20 years as a public defender in Queens, New York, she sought a more relaxed and peaceful career as an artist and joined with Long Island artist Craig Lohsen. They formed Heartworks Studio. Their art is inspired by "the heart" and includes various medium canvas, antique tin ceiling tiles, keepsake boxes and glass. Their work can be found in galleries and private collections. She donated a piece to the Greater Brockport Development Corporation for a fundraiser in July.

A selection of art will be displayed throughout the shop and the Red Bird will donate 10 percent of the store's total daily sales to the cause. There will be refreshments and door prizes featuring a gift collection from Crabtree & Evelyn, a Vera Bradley Bag donated by the Red Bird, gift certificate from Jill's Boutique Salon & Spa, a specially designed jewelry piece from Misstique and more.

Uderitz-Zeno will be at the Red Bird for the show starting at 6 p.m.
