B-B opens Universal Pre-K

Students and staff at Byron-Bergen celebrated the inaugural Universal Pre-Kindergarten class with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in September, with 18 students, teacher Ayn Gardner and teacher aide Cheryl Giles. Selected through a lottery process, students are in Pre-K for a full day, five days a week. They attend classes in physical education, art, music and library, in addition to working and playing in their classroom. "I am thrilled to be able to implement the first Pre-K program in the Byron-Bergen Central School District and look forward to forming a partnership with the students, staff, parents and community as we celebrate the first days of school for the graduating class of 2021," Gardner said.
