Blue Deveils halt Cadets

Brockport swept all four singles matches along with a win at first doubles in a 5-2 victory over visiting Hilton in girls tennis.

Senior Calder Mills-Lexvold won at first singles 6-1, 6-2 and second singles Hannah Barton improved her season record to 7-1 with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep.

At third singles, sophomore Mallory Warner won her first set for Brockport 6-4 before losing the second 3-6. She rebounded to break serve twice and led 5-0 before settling for a 6-3 third set win to take the match. Junior Katie Honeck had little trouble in winning at fourth singles 6-0, 6-2.

Emma Vandenburg and Mackenzie LoMonaca also took a 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 victory at first doubles for the Blue Devils.

Hilton received solid performances from the team of Ashley Appleton and Brittany Waldroni at second doubles in their 6-1, 6-2 win and from the third doubles team of Julia Schmidt and Vanessa Lauber in their 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Brockport improved to 4-4 overall and 3-4 league while Hilton fell to 4-5, 1-4.
