Bees remain undefeated

Three-time defending New York State champion Byron-Bergen improved its record to 13-0 this season with a 25-14, 25-12, 25-17 girl's volleyball sweep over visiting Oakfield-Alabama. This comes after losing six seniors from last year's championship squad.

In game one, the early going saw the score tied on six occasions before the Bees pulled away with 13 consecutive service points by Alannah Heale. Included in the run were three kills and block by Mary Cocking and consecutive kills from Jessica George.

The Hornets again kept things close in the early stages of game two before B-B outscored them 20-7.

The final game was tied 11-11 before the Bees jumped ahead on an ace and a kill by Rori Partridge and a Kayla Konieczny slight of hand tip for a point.

Cocking led all players with seven kills, Heale handed out 18 assists and Mary McCormick led with four aces. George had five kills with one block and Sarah Hartman added three aces with four assists.

Byron-Bergen has four matches remaining in the regular season including Senior Night against Kendall October 19.
