Hutton, Siclare tally for Cadets

The Hilton girl's soccer team scored one goal in each half and goalkeeper Becky Hebert registered her fifth shutout of the season as the Cadets shutout host Churchville-Chili 2-0.

After the Saints Emma Capotosto, Morgan Skiff and Rachel Evans had scoring chances stopped by Hebert in the first half, Hilton captain Hutton hit a free kick from 34 yards out just under the crossbar for a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute.

C-C came closest to scoring just six minutes later when Marissa Volonino hit the crossbar with her shot and Skiff was stopped on the rebound attempt.

In the second half the Cadets pressured for several minutes before Hutton fed Siclare who put her shot just inside the far left post in the 52nd minute for a 2-0 lead.

The Saints best scoring chance over the rest of the second half came when Kathryn Rowe's shot was stopped by Hebert with 21 minutes remaining.

The Cadets consistently beat the Saints to most loose balls and generally showed more speed throughout.

Hebert was called on to make 11 saves in the shutout as the Cadets improved to 5-7 overall.
