Cadets take gymnastics crown

Hilton finished off an undefeated 13-0 season with a 133.600 to 126.200 victory over previously unbeaten Fairport to win the Division II gymnastics championship. Webster and Batavia took third and fourth respectively in the quad meet held at SUNY Brockport.

The Cadets finished first and second in all four events plus the all-around led by Paige Wray and Stephanie Monnat. Wray won the uneven bars with a score of 8.250, the balance beam with an 8.950 and the all-around with 35.050 points. She finished second in the vault and the floor exercise.

Monnat took top honors in the vault with an 8.700 and the floor exercise with a 9.350 and was runner-up in the uneven bars, the beam and the all-around.

Other top finishers for Hilton were Miranda Zupp, who took third in the uneven bars and Stephanie Miles, who was third in the floor exercise, took fifth on the balance beam and sixth in the all-around. Madeline Pierce and Miles tied for sixth on the vault with Pierce also taking seventh on the beam and the floor.

As a result of the win over the Red Raiders, Hilton entered the county tournament ranked first.
