A word a day

Holley third graders each have their own dictionary thanks to Albion Elks Lodge 1006. This is the third year that the Elks have donated dictionaries to the school as part of a nationwide program started in 1995 to help children with their reading skills. The Elks gave over 500 dictionaries to all five school districts in Orleans County with nearly 100 going to Holley. The students wrote thank-you notes to the Elks and Clifford Thom, Sr., leading knight, who came to hand out the books. Holley third graders (l-r) Ryley O'Mara, Jessica Mandigo and Antonio Puente take a look at their new dictionaries.
