LMH Twig Association holds baby shower for Lakeside Family Birthing Center

The Lakeside Memorial Hospital Twig Association continued its tradition of support by holding a baby shower for the Lakeside Family Birthing Center. All Twig members participated by donating hand made and newly purchased baby items. These items are given to moms without the resources to purchase new items including baby clothing, blankets, hand-made afghans, and baby toiletries that are essential to new mothers.

"The Twig Association has always been very supportive of the birthing center and we appreciate everything they do to make the birthing experience at Lakeside more personal and special. It is exciting to be able to give these gifts to our new moms who appreciate the time and effort that went into the hand made items," Donna DuPont, Director of Nursing, Obstetrical Services said.

Anyone wishing to contribute new baby items for an upcoming shower can contact Evelyn Krekic, president of the Twig Association, at 964-2612. In addition to this baby shower, Twig members contribute to the hospital in a variety of ways. They donate their time and energy to operating the Twig Gift Shop, provide art work throughout the hospital, maintain the beautiful courtyard, knit hats for newborns and create tray favors for patients. Twigs also dedicate themselves to several fundraisers throughout the year in order to raise monies for Lakeside.

Membership on the Twig Association is open to all women in any community. Call Krekic for information.
