Phi Theta Kappa sending holiday
donations to soldiers overseas

The Genesee Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is organizing a community-wide drive to collect items to send to troops overseas this holiday season. Anything from baby wipes to books, batteries to beef jerky is on the list of items needed. Donations of goods (and money for shipping costs) will be accepted until November 21 to ensure that the items arrive in time for the holidays. Donation boxes are located throughout the Batavia campus and at each of Genesee's six campus centers.

"This is an important initiative to help our troops have a happy holiday," said Dr. Rafael Alicea-Maldonado, associate professor of chemistry and Phi Theta kappa Advisor. "We hope to send many, many boxes overseas to let our soldiers know they are remembered and that their service is appreciated."

For information contact Alicea-Maldonado at 585-343-0055 extension 6391 or email: ralicea-maldonado@genesee.edu.
