•Goodridge, Betty L. (Raleigh), Died December 27, 2009. Predeceased by her sons, Richard Korber and Jimmy Mullins; brother, Paul “Buzz” Raleigh. Survived by husband, David L. Goodridge; sons, David (Renee) Korber and Gary (Lindsay) W. Thompson; daughter, Bonnie “Cissy” (Marty) Kalpin; brother, John “Butch” (Edna) Raleigh: sister, Jackie (Richard) Bristow; beloved sister-in-law, Sue Raleigh (Buzz) and daughter-in-law, Claudia Korber (Rick); several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many beloved friends.
A Funeral Mass will be said at the Nativity Church of BVM, 152 Main Street, Brockport on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. Donations can be made to the Nativity Church of BVM, Brockport in her memory.
•McCormick, Wilbur M. “Buck,” December 26, 2009, at age 94. Buck is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Mildred; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Bill Sweeting of Brockport; son and daughter-in-law, John and Cynthia McCormick of Medina; grandchildren, David and Lisa Sweeting and Susie and Bill Armstrong, all of Atlanta, Georgia and Scott and Rebecca McCormick of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Max Sweeting, Ainslie, Liam and Aiden Armstrong, all of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Audrey Klick of North Chili; nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his son, James W. McCormick, and his granddaughter, Katie Sweeting. Buck was a lifelong resident of Brockport, graduate of Brockport High School and Brockport Normal School (now SUNY Brockport), active member of SUNY Brockport Alumni Association, Kodak retiree of 32 years, member of Free and Accepted Masons, Brockport Exempt Firemen Association, Western Monroe Historical Society, Brockport United Methodist Church, Knights of Rest, and Mornings with the Professors. He contributed to local politics and government, serving the Village of Brockport with pride as a board member.
A Memorial Celebration of his Life was held January 2, 2010, at the Brockport United Methodist Church. Interment at Lake View Cemetery in Brockport in the spring. Donations can be made to Lakeside Foundation, 156 West Avenue, Brockport, Brockport United Methodist Church or SUNY Brockport Foundation, 350 New Campus Drive, Brockport (att: Mike Andriatch) in his memory. Donations of blood to the Red Cross would be life-giving to others who suffer from blood disorders such as Buck’s.
CHURCHVILLE
•Adams, Kathlyn C. “Kay” (Cousins), Died peacefully December 11, 2009 at the Episcopal Church Home, Rochester. She was 88. She was predeceased by her husband Robert W. Adams (Bob’s Friendly Service, Churchville) and her sisters, Patricia Carr and Avery Cousins. She graduated from Smith College, class of ‘42, and received a master’s degree in Library Science from SUNY Geneseo in 1967. She worked as Training Supervisor at Sibley, Lindsay & Curr, and then joined the Monroe County Library System, first as librarian for the Riga Free Library in Churchville in 1952, and later moved to the Rundell Library in Rochester as the Assistant Director for the Special Project, Library Services for the Disadvantaged. In 1966 she was named Outreach Consultant for MCLS until her retirement in 1986. She became an active resident of the Episcopal Senior Life Communities in 2005. She is survived by her son, James (Judy) Adams and her grandson, Kelly James Adams of McLean, Virginia.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, January 4, at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 11 South Main Street, Churchville. A Memorial Service will also be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Episcopal Church Home, 505 Mt. Hope Avenue, Rochester, NY. Contributions can be made to the Newman Riga Public Library, 1 Village Park, Churchville, NY 14428 in her memory.
•Cabic, Michelle J. (Kirby), December 23, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by parents Edmund and Julie Kirby and grandson Kirby Benoit. She is survived by beloved husband, Thomas Cabic; children, Theresa (Jeffrey) deRoos, Thomas Cabic II, Kathleen (Moore) Cabic, Jeanette (Michael) Benoit and Jenelle (William) Canterbury; grandchildren, David, Katherine and Daniel deRoos; Brianna, Sabrina and Olivia Benoit; Brianna and Cassidy Canterbury; sister, Karen (Lewis) Colton; in-laws Myra and Clarence Cabic, Gail (Richard) Beldue, Sandy (Michael) Keeler, and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated December 28 at St. Christopher Church, North Chili. Contributions can be made to Gilda’s Club, 255 Alexander Street, Rochester 14607 in her memory.
•Turcotte, Nancy E., December 27, 2009 at age 74. She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Marie Heffernan and her sister, Joyce Zaharvitz. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Al Turcotte; her children, Barbara (George) White, George (Patricia) and Paul (Tammy) Turcotte; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sister Elizabeth Hardy; brothers-in-law, Robert (Helen) and Wilfred Turcotte; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated December 31 at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Churchville. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Palliative Care Program, University of Rochester Medical Center, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Box 687, Rochester, NY 14642 in her memory.
HAMLIN
•Polka, Alan J., December 25, 2009, 65. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Ferro) Polka; his children, Lynn (William) Denise and James Polka; grandchildren, Alyssa and Michael Denise, Marley Polka; his brother, William Polka; sister, Christine (Arthur) Kilmer; his mother-in-law, Lena Ferro. Predeceased by his parents, Albin and Mary Polka.
Funeral Services were held December 30 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Entombment, Riverside Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Hamlin Volunteer Ambulance in his memory.

•McFiggens, Phyllis A. (Wolfanger), December 22, 2009 at age 86. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth C. McFiggens and siblings, Millard Wolfanger, Eleanor Folts and Wendell Wolfanger. She is survived by her children, Dale (Kathy) McFiggens and Lorraine (Glenn) Griebel; grandchildren, Janine (Roy) Hinman, Melanie Griebel, Erin and Geoff Thomas; great grandchildren, Ryan, Aiden and Gavin Hinman; close friend, Arlene Lewandowski; many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company.
Graveside Services were held December 28 at Parma Union Cemetery, Hilton. Contributions can be made to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester 14626 in her memory.
•Spangenburg, Robert C., December 23, 2009. Survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Dennis (Christine) Spangenburg and Sandra Moss; granddaughter, Vangie (Doug Jones) Behrend; great-grandson, Justin Behrend and sister, Marguerite Krahenbuhl.
Services were held December 28 at the Funeral Home of Henry D. Halloran Son, Inc., Henrietta. Interment private.
•Zelazny, Rita M., December 27, 2009, at age 74. Predeceased by her husband, Henry E. Zelazny. She is survived by her loving daughters, Lynne (Billy) Powers, Laurie (Gary) Otto, Karen (Dennis) Gorton and Kris (John Wagner) Zelazny; grandchildren, Tyler, Michael, Alisa (Paul), Chris, Will, Shaun, Kelly, Allison, Henry and Matthew; sister, June (Harold) O’Bryan; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A Funeral Mass was said December 30 at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, Greece. Entombment, Riverside Cemetery. Donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice in her memory.
