•Gleason, Veleta G., age 78, died May 6, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Gleason, two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her children Thomas (Kathy) Gleason, Susan (Dan) Golding, Daniel (Laurie) Gleason, Veleta (Richard) Muhs, Ralph (Buffie) Gleason, Russell (Carol) Gleason; also three sisters Lavina Mosher, Emily Mosher, Karen Weed; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins.
Funeral Services were held May 9 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Holley. Interment, Hillside Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Lakeside Oncology, 156 West Avenue, Brockport 14420 in her memory.
•McLean, William M., May 2, 2009. Survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years Rita M. McLean; his brothers Roy and Fred; his children Margaret, Joan, David and Danny; his grandchildren Jennifer and Heather, Amanda and Mark, Robin, Richard and Robert and by many great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sons Patrick and Richard. He was a WWII veteran and a proud American, known for his love of NASCAR and the Earnhardt name.
Funeral Services were held May 6 at Thomas Funeral Chapels, Inc., Rochester. Interment Riverside Cemetery.
•Ophardt, Caroline S. (Wolf), age 90, April 29, 2009. Predeceased by her husband Alfred; daughter Carol Young. She is survived by her children Ronald A. (Donna) Ophardt, Charles E. (Joann) Ophardt; sister Arline Schane; brother-in-law, Vernon (Leora) Ophardt; grandchildren Greg (Tammy) Ophardt, Tammy (Marty) Davis, Peter (Holly) Ophardt, Jeff (Karen) Young, Julie (Jeff) Iler; six great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Wayne Young; nieces and nephews.

•Roberts, Janet (Williams), age 44, formerly of Remsen, New York died April 25, 2009. Janet was employed for several years at Oak Orchard Dental Office and University of Rochester. Janet is survived by her two daughters Brittany and Carly Roberts both of Brockport; her parents Robert and Marie Williams of Remsen, New York; her sister Barbara Sobel; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Sheila Williams.
Burial was in Utica, New York on April 29. A Memorial Service was held May 6 at Jubilee Christian Church, Brockport.
•Tantalo, Gaetano “Papa Guy,” April 28, 2009, at age 95. Predeceased by his wife, Domenica “Mamie” Tantalo; brothers, Antonio and Domenico Tantalo; sister, Mary Triassi. He is survived by his children, Francis (Karen) Tantalo of Texas, Daniel (Susanne) Tantalo of Florida, Paul (Janice) Tantalo, Loretta (Ronald) Panicci of Connecticut; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Loreta Tantalo of Italy; sisters-in-law, Jennie Tantalo, Mary Tantalo; special cousins, Mary Lippa, Josephine Carvill, Grace Tantalo; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Tantalo was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Co. and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s.
A Funeral Mass was said May 4 at St. Lawrence Church, Greece. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations can be directed to Monroe Community Hospital, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester 14620 in his memory.

•Cross, Evelyn E. (Jacobs), age 82, April 29, 2009. Predeceased by parents Ernest and Edith (Zarpentine) Jacobs and brother Kenneth Jacobs. She is survived by her children Gerald R. (Beverly Cejas) Cross, Diane M. (Wendell) Grimm; brothers Carl Jacobs, Lon (Jeanette) Jacobs; grandchildren Ryan P. (Katie) Grimm, Alissa L. Grimm; many nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Shirley Jacobs.

•Wohlers, Judy S. (Strutz), age 55, April 30, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Rick Wohlers; her only child, daughter, Robyn (Sean Clayborne) Wohlers; brothers, Eric (Brenda) Strutz, Steven (Susan) Strutz; sisters, Laura Strutz, Sue Strutz; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; cousins and many sincere friends.

•Worden, Thelma E. (Dillenbeck), May 3, 2009, at the age of 78. Predeceased by her son, Thomas R. Worden. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Richard; daughter Linda Alercia (Kevin D’Agostino); son Gary; grandchildren Jennifer (Joshua) Cieslinski, David and James Alercia, Michael and Jessica Worden; great-grandchildren Justin, Kayle, DJ and Jimmy.
Interment was May 6 at the Webster Rural Cemetery.
HILTON
•Baleno, Robert A., April 15, 2009 in Stuart, Florida. Predeceased by his brother, Ralph Baleno. He is survived by his loving wife, Laura (Brew) Baleno; daughters, Margaret Baleno, Kathy Baleno; brother Frank (Erna) Baleno; sister, Sandra (John) Billone; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joan Baleno, Enid Baker, Cordelia Cohill, Howard and Sandy Brew; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Baleno was a member of the Elks Club and was a retiree of Local 13 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.

•Connolly, Timothy M., April 29, 2009, at 65 years of age of asbestos-related mesothelioma. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Annice Connolly of Lyndonville; brother-in-law, Charles L. Gerhardt of Hilton and niece, Margaret Pastor. Survived by his three children, Christopher Connolly of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; Alicia Connolly of St. Crois, Virgin Islands and Julie Connolly of Greece; sisters, Barbara Gerhardt of Hilton, Mary Jo Leach (Henry) of Florence, Oregon and Suzanne Pastor (Arthur) of Greece; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Tim was a lifelong boater and lover of the water, Veteran of the United States Navy, member of the Sheet Metal Union Local #46, Oak Orchard Yacht Club and First Bible Baptist Church.

•Guyer, Joan Evelyn, April 30, 2009. She was predeceased by her parents, Daniel O. and Evelyn Guyer; sister, Jean Smith. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara (John) Begue and Marie (Robert) Hooker; niece, Lynn Kenyon; nephews, Allen (Vicki) Kenyon, Scott Kenyon, Tim (Jill) Kenyon and Kenneth Guyer; several grandnieces and grandnephews.

•Richardson, John, Hilton/Estero, Florida, age 78, April 3, 2009. Survived by his wife of 60 years Jeanette (Fitzgerald) Richardson; their children, John (Barbara), Michael (Lori), Kevan (Cheryl), Clay (Kathy); brothers Robert, Fred; sisters Betty Foubister, Linda (Paul) Fritsch; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

•VanDorn, John W. “Jack,” May 1, 2009. Predeceased by his brother Francis VanDorn. He is survived by his sisters Bernice (James) Daily, Marion (Joseph) Ryan; his aunt Madeline Fleming, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were at the convenience of the family.
HOLLEY
•Nenni, Gale (Smalley), died April 29, 2009, at age 64, peacefully surrounded by her family. Survived by her husband Roland Nenni Jr.; father and mother Edson and Irene Smalley; sons David (Caroline) Nenni, Roland (Tammy) Nenni III; granddaughters Jenna, Jessica, Ashley, Kristen, Hanna; great-granddaughter Myalee; brother John (Beverly) Smalley; sisters, Sandy (Jim) Bartlett, Marsha (John) Green. She was a past member and President of the Holley Central School Board, was one of the founding members of the Holley Sports Boosters and a member and past president of the Holley Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
A Memorial Service was held May 4 at Holley First Presbyterian Church. Contributions can be made to Lifetime Care (Hospice of Rochester), 3111 South Winton Road, Rochester 14623 in her memory.
NORTH CHILI
•Glidden, Daniel E. “Dirt,” of Las Vegas. He died April 24, 2009, while riding his Harley Davidson. He is survived by his adoring wife Laura; step son Corey; daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Sean Escoe; three grandchildren; sister Bonnie Keilman; brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Sharon Glidden; sister-in-law and husband Gina and Mark (Hobo) Phillips; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and best friend Vinny Calabrese along with many other friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph B. and Marilyn A. Glidden (Fellows). Dirt worked for Southland Industries in Las Vegas and was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 88. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Las Vegas and Florida. Dan was born and raised in North Chili, went to school in the Churchville-Chili Central School District, lived in Florida, Texas and finally in Las Vegas. He loved to ride his motorcycle with his wife and thoroughly enjoyed the company of other riders.
•Thompson, Joan S., May 3, 2009, age 77. Survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William F.; two daughters, Ami Jane (Charles) Ridgell and Jennifer (Todd) Sherwood; five grandchildren, Charles Ridgell IV and Emily Ridgell, Adam, Corey and Erika Sherwood. Joan was a retired teacher from the Rochester City School District.

•Buckheister, Dorethea M. (Adams) “Dori,” April 30, 2009, at age 76. Predeceased by her children’s father and first husband Darl L. Adams Sr., and her second husband John C. Buckheister. She is survived by her children, Darl “Bimmie” L. (Nancy) Adams, Paula (Fred) Colaprete, Joseph “Lynn” (Stephanie) Adams and Debra (Michael) Wilson; siblings Claire (Lioda) Anthony, Esther (Elmer) Friesen and Doris Smith; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Dori was a member of Order of the Eastern Star.

•Donner, Lorraine K., On May 6, 2009 at age 67, known to all who loved her as “Kathy.” She is survived by her loving husband and soulmate of 47 years, Joseph E. Donner; daughters, Paula (Wayne) Lowe and Gayle Ellender; grandchildren, Joe, Megan, Victoria, Eli, Amber, Jackson and many spiritual sons and daughters.
A Celebration of her life was held May 9 at Gospel Light Bible Baptist Church, Gates. Private interment.
•Hurley, Kenneth T., May 2, 2009, at age 82, after a quiet but determined 5-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Geraldine M. “Jean” (Sanford); daughter, Marlene (Larry) Kramer; sons, Dean (Lyn Van Alstyne), David (Yves Morin) and Ken; his five grandchildren: Seth and Leah Kramer, Eben and Mason Hurley and Matthew Hurley. He is also survived by his sister Bernice (Bill) Paternostro of Parker, Arizona and step-brother Lowell (Fran) Nichols of Albany, New York. Ken volunteered for the Navy in 1943, at the age of 17, serving as a cook aboard the USS Tuna in the Pacific during WWII. A proud resident of Spencerport since 1955, and the “Mayor of Ballard Avenue,” Ken moved to Spencerport to manage the Hart’s Grocery Store on Union Street. He retired from Rochester Products in 1989 after 25 years as a security guard. Over the past 25 years, Ken and Jean rode their Harley Davidson cross-country three times visiting nearly every state. He was a member of the American Legion Ferris-Goodridge Post #330 and the Spencerport Firemen Exempt.

•Lennington, Eleanor B., May 5, 2009 at age 76. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wilbur “Bud” Lennington; son Robert W. Lennington; two step daughters Constance (Andrew) Liwen and Victory Cooper; two grandchildren Amber and Alexander Lennington and step-grandchildren Whitney Cooper, Gregory and Cynthia Liwen; special friend Christine Weber and many others. Predeceased by sister Althea Bridges and brother Harold (Esther) Bridges. She was a member of Spencerport Wesleyan Church.

•Sadler, Roy M., May 3, 2009, at age 84, in Kissimmee, Florida. He was a longtime resident of Spencerport and Byron, before moving to Florida. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Leona (Barnard) Sadler and his son Randy Sadler. Survived by his children, Carol (Daniel) Loewke of Bergen, Patricia Sadler Dingman of Kissimmee, Ralph (Pamela) Sadler of Byron/-Kissimmee, Nancy Bliss of Rochester, Ronald Sadler of Kissimmee; 11 grandchildren; 26 1/2 great-grandchildren; many more relatives and friends. Roy was a retiree of General Railway Signal Co. and was an Army veteran of WWII.
Funeral Services were held May 8 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Interment, Byron Cemetery.
