•Blum, Joseph C., May 31, 2009 at the age of 74. Predeceased by his parents Joseph V. and Inez A. Blum. Survived by his brother, Edward G. (Debra) Blum; his aunt, Frances Blum; nieces and nephews, Donna (Ken) Adriaansen, David E. Blum and JoAnn (Eric) Preissner. Joe worked for the Town of Ogden Highway Department for 16 years.

A Funeral Mass was said June 3 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Spencer-port. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice in his memory.


BROCKPORT

•O’Brien, Margaret J., June 1, 2009 at age 91. Aunt of Joan Tresco, Catherine Schwalenstocker and Dennis Buck; sister-in-law of Gladys O’Brien. Also survived by five great and four great-great-nieces and nephews. Miss O’Brien was an Election Inspector for the Town of Clarkson and a proud Democrat.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said June 6 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Brockport. Contributions can be made to Association for the Blind, 422 South Clinton Avenue, Rochester, NY 14627 in her memory.


HAMLIN

•Way, Charles R., May 30, 2009, age 89. He was predeceased by his lifelong companion, Vera “Babe” Blodgett, 1999. Survived by his daughters, Deborah (Mike) Miller, and Donna (Tom) LeBerth, both of Florida; his sister, Martha Stolz; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews including James Way. He was a Founding (1946) and Charter Member of Hamlin VFW Post #6703, a thirty plus year member of Ferris-Goodridge American Legion Post, Spencerport.

Funeral Services were held June 3 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Interment, Clarkson-Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Walker Fire Department in his memory.


HILTON

•LaMere, William J. Sr., age 67, on June 1, 2009. Predeceased by brothers James E., Larry L.; sister, Patricia Hart. Survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy (Lamica) LaMere; their children William J. (Tammy) LaMere, Jr., Michael A. (Amy Oakden) LaMere, Brad E. (Alicia) LaMere; grandchildren, Danny Oakden, Chelsea, Brandon, Zachary, Nicholas, Blake, Alexander LaMere; brothers, Donald, Floyd, Anthony LaMere; sisters, Shirley Augusta, Jane Burgess and niece and sole caregiver, Carolyn Santos.

Funeral Services were held June 6 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Hilton. Contributions can be made to American Lung Association or Lifetime Care Hospice in his memory.


•McElligott, Wayne M., May 28, 2009, at age 56, after a 10-year illness. Predeceased by his parents, Mary K. and Maurice J. McElligott; brothers John and Robert; sisters, Kathleen and Dianne. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda; children, Megan (Jason Gotte), John (Lissette Melendez) and Aaron McElligott; foster son, Daniel J. (Jane) Petrilli; grandchildren, Shawn, Danielle, Jordan, Daniel and Celena; also survived by siblings Maurice J. (Joni), Frank G. (Sabrina) McElligott, Elizabeth Cirelli, Eileen McElligott and Patricia (Gerald) DiNorma; many nieces and nephews.

•Pfarrer, Lucille B., Peacefully, May 29, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband, William; daughter Betty Lou Diedrich; and her brother and sister-in-law, Hy and Audrey Burritt. Survived by her daughters, Donna Pfarrer, Anne Hall, Mary (Tom) Tilebein; grandchildren, Michael (Joanie) Hall, Susan (Bill) Doran, David Hall, Betsy (Mark) Bauer, Jeffrey (Laurie) and Andrew (Gia) Diedrich; great-grandchildren, Candace, Michael, Danny, Ben, Arron, Morgan, Tyler, Jacob, Molly, Abby and Hannah; great-great-grandson, Brandon; her sister, Marion Westfall; son-in-law, Luther Diedrich; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

•Rayome, Francis B. “Frank,” May 30, 2009, age 75. He is survived by his wife, Rose; his children, Mary (Gregory) Hayes, Rosann (Paul) Goldblatt, Mark (Marilee), James (Agnes) and Robert (Anne) Rayome; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters,. Frank was a U.S. Navy Korean Veteran, Kodak retiree and a member of Hilton Fire Department Exempts.

KENDALL

•Steehler, Richard James, of Canandaigua, formerly of Kendall, died April 29, 2009, age 88. He is survived by his son, David (Carol) Steehler of Minnesota; four daughters, Marlene (Fred) Bates of Arizona, Janet (Patrick) Bolton of Kendall, Barbara (Jeffery) Reamer of Arkansas, and Carol (Steve) Schreiner of Gorham; two brothers, Ted (Shirley) Steehler of Arizona and Robert (Elsie) Steehler of Greece; three sisters, Marge Clevenger of North Carolina, Ann Marie Hughes of Rochester and Virginia (Jim) Boccardo of Rochester; brother-in-law, Ray (Myrtie) Leckinger of Nevada; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He joins his loving wife of 59 years in heaven Eleanor M. Steehler, as well as his brothers, Chuck and Andrew Steehler. Mr. Steehler was employed at Eastman Kodak Company for over 30 years.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated May 16 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Kendall. Contributions can be made to VA Medical Center Palliative Care-Hospice Unit, #1640, c/o Voluntary Services, Canandaigua, NY 14424 or St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Kendall, NY 14476 in his memory.

•Williams, Gary A., age 53, May 28, 2009. Former Kodak and Siemens employee. Survived by wife Mavis; a daughter Dornell (Bryan) Cleveland of Brockport and her children, Ariana and Austin, who were Gary’s “little peanuts;” two sons, Ryan (Janet) Williams of Rochester and their son Jack Christopher (Meghann) Williams of Texas and their children, Savannah, Jarod, Alyssa; siblings Kathleen Williams, Barbara (John) Mitchell, Marian George, Linda (Kenneth) Kabelach, Eileen Williams; mother-in-law, Mavis Dewey; many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by brother David Williams.

Funeral Services were held June 2 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion. Contributions can be made to the Kendall Fire Department in his memory.


SPENCERPORT

•Hall, Earl J., May 31, 2009, at the age of 81. Earl is survived by his wife of 60 years, Veronica; daughter Linda (Peter) Firnstein; sons Earl Stephen (Laurel), Douglas (Tenly) and Kenneth (Joan); 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; several cousins, nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. Earl was a Naval WWII veteran, president and owner of Homes By Hall, Inc., past president the Spencerport Lions Club, member of the American Legion Ferris-Goodridge Post 330, Spencerport.

A Funeral Mass was said June 6 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Spencerport with interment at Riverside Cemetery. Contributions can be made to St. John the Evangelist Church or the Spencerport Volunteer Ambulance in his memory.


•Ross, Robert J. “Skip,” June 1, 2009. Passed away peacefully in his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Dana (Vicki) Ross; sister, Dorothy Masterson and grandchild, Jason Ross; nieces and nephews. Mr. Ross was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the Teamsters Local 118 for 47 years.

A Funeral Mass was said June 5 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Spencerport. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Local Veterans Administration in his memory.
