AREA
•Walters Sr., Lee M., June 10, 2009 age 81 of Kirksville, died June 10, 2009. He retired in 1988 from Carrier Corp. after 37 years of service. Lee was a member of Kirkville United Methodist Church. Survivors: his wife of 61 years, Betty Leigh Walters; two daughters, Linda Carlisle and Donna (William) Rockow; two sons, Lee Jr. (Kelly) and George (Amy); a sister, Betty Hobb; nine grandchildren, Ryan and Jeff (Natalie) Carlisle, Matthew Rockow, Katherine, Lyndsay, Heather, Sara and Sydney Walters and Brooke Walters; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Carlisle.
Funeral Services were held June 15 at Kirkville United Methodist Church. Interment, Kirkville Cemetery. ALBION
•Kirby, George E., age 87, died June 13, 2009. He was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church, B.P.O. Elks Albion Lodge #1006. George was a farmer of fruits and vegetables for many years and in 1970 he and his brother Robert started Kirby’s Farm Market in Brockport. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the Pacific and European Theater of War in an anti-aircraft battery.
He is survived by his wife Therese “Terri,”; sons, Tim (Linda) Kirby of Albion, Robert Kirby of North Carolina; daughters Cindy Pileggi of Albion, Gayle (John) Stickley of New Jersey; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandsons and three great-grandchildren on the way; sister, Betty Ann (Pos) Kenyon of Albion; sisters-in-law, Jean and Betty Kirby of Albion; several nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Francis, Robert, John, sister Ellen Bartley.
A Mass of Christian Burial was said June 17 at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church. Interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery with full military honors. Contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children or Ronald McDonald House in Rochester in his memory.
BYRON
•Lathrop, Clara S. June 17, 2009 at age 66. Wife of 48 years to Larry R. Lathrop of Byron; mother of Dan (Kathy) Lathrop of Batavia, Don (fiancee Judy Carter) Lathrop of Syracuse and Tammy (Mike) Franklin of Caledonia; grandmother of Shane Lathrop, Aaron Lathrop, Jessica McCann, Amber Lathrop and Josiah Franklin; sister of Ted Kaiser of Byron. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

BROCKPORT
•Chest, Daniel (Senior Master Sargeant, USAF, Retired), June 16, 2009 peacefully at age 85. Predeceased by wife Marie and twin sons Danny and David. Survived by daughter Laura of Brockport; grandson William Chest and great grandson Jordan Chest of Idaho; brother Jim (Mary) of Avon; nieces Norene (Ron) Chesterton of Henrietta, Jackie (Dave) Sebold of Minnesota; nephew Jimmy (Melody) Chest of Leicester. Dan served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years in WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam.
Funeral Services were held June 19 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Albion. Interment, Mt. Albion Cemetery with full military honors. Contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice in his memory.
•Coyle, Ralph Fridd, June 13, 2009 at the age of 90. Predeceased by his wife Ruth Baker Coyle. He is survived by his son Ronald (Nancy); grandchildren Jeffery (Joanne Clattenburg), Claudine (Robert Flad), Heather (Tige) Noni; great grandchildren Sean (Cassie), Colleen, Kayla, Bryce, Zachary, and Parker; nieces and nephews. Ralph was a WWII Veteran.

•Bonferraro, Kathryn Ann “Kathy,” After a courageous battle with cancer, June 12, 2009, at age 44. Predeceased by her brother, Patrick. She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years Carl; children, Nicole and Matthew; mother, Mary Jane Jimenez; father, Angel Jimenez; brother and sisters, Michael (Tracey) Jimenez, Angela (Merl) McGinnis, Susan (Joe) Hibbard; mother-in-law, father-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

•Sechrist, John Francis, age 94, died June 9, 2009 after a brief illness. He was born March 22, 1915 in Erie, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Leroy and Ida (Kunz) Sechrist. On April 26, 1941, John married his wife of 64 years, Velma E. Kochis, who died in 2005. He was a resident of Erie, Pennsylvania until 2005, when he moved to Brockport. John worked his entire career at General Electric as a machinist and as a locomotive inspector. He was active in the Erie Lions Club and St. George Parish. He is survived by three children, Marjorie Ann Cunningham of Merrimack, New Hampshire, Kenneth M. Sechrist of Hilton and Robert J. Sechrist of North Andover, Massachusetts. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. His eldest son, John F. Sechrist Jr., predeceased him in 2001.

•Impellizzeri, Joseph, on June 17, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Audrey; daughters Ariana and Alissa; parents Salvatore and Filipina Impellizzeri; siblings Gaetano Impellizzeri, Carmelina (Bohdan) Klymochko, Zina (Mitchell) Kime; mother and father in-law Janice and Glenn House; sisters in-law Nancy House, Beverly (Fred) Cooper; nephews Bohdan, Justin, Alexander Klymochko, Zackery and Logan Kime and Clint Cooper; aunts and uncles John (Carmela) Callea and family, Salvatore (Lina) Chirdo and family, Angelo (Gina) Centi and family.

•Serow, Kenneth A., June 15, 2009. Survived by his children, Ken (Carrie) Serow, Bonnie Serow, Brian McDonald; grandchildren, Nicholas McDonald, Nicholas Belluccio, Kenny and Kyle Serow; sisters, Kay (Tony) Vieira, Gail (Don) Hall; nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Kenneth served in the Marines during the Vietnam War. Ken was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

•Riley, Ruth I., June 5, 2009. Predeceased by her husband, Dr. Arnold Riley. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Averil) Riley, Jeffrey (Lynda) Riley of Massachusetts; grandchildren Alison (Jason) Parker, Kathryn and David Riley; great-granddaughter, Averil Parker; sister, Rava Glasser of South Carolina. Ruth was a flight nurse in the Army Air Corps during WWII.

Predeceased by her husband Gordon.

•Maynard, Warren D. Sr., “Cowboy,” died suddenly June 10, 2009, after a short illness. Mr. Maynard was a US Army Veteran of WWII having served in Pearl Harbor. Warren was a member of the US Trotting Association and was an owner and trainer of race horses; a retired employee of Kodak Building 57. Mr. Maynard was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Beverly; his children: Wayne Jr., Mark (Dona), Aleta (Wayne Martin Jr.) Maynard; grandchildren: Jared, Sheena and Michael.
A celebration of his life was held June 16 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Kendall. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Kendall Fire Company in his memory.
SPENCERPORT
•Maxim, Virginia M., June 16, 2009, at age 91. She is predeceased by her husband, Carl Maxim; siblings Robert Ansell, Mildred Angie, and Helen Fordham; and great-grandson, Matthew LaRocco. She is survived by her brother, Peter (Sharon) Ansell; her four children David (Judy) Maxim, Paul (Barbara) Maxim, Mark (Carolyn) Maxim, and Joan (Dennis) Holland; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and the countless lives of friends she’s touched.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 22 at 7 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2929 Sweden Walker Road, Brockport.
