•Clark, Florence M., On Wednesday, June 23, 2009 at the age of 81. Predeceased by her husband Raymond Clark and son Robert Clark. She is survived by her children Kathleen Peters, Ruth Burch, Dorothy (Olin) Mossburger and Rae Carol Clark; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held June 26 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Holley. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.


BROCKPORT

•Ashida, Sachio Ph.D., On June 22, 2009. Predeceased by his parents Giichiro and Yoshie Ashida, brothers Tadao and Masao and his beloved wife Ellie. He is survived by his daughters Margaret Ashida and Janet Johnson and her husband Don; his grandson Alan Genji Ashida Johnson; and his siblings in Japan, brother Takeo and sisters Sadako, Yoshiko, Akiko and Yasuko.

There will be a celebration of his life and achievements at a later date. Contributions can be made to the scholarship fund which Dr. Ashida established at the University of Rochester to honor his wife. Contributions should reference the Margaret E. •Beuckman, Virginia E., June 26, 2009. Predeceased by husband Robert, parents Stuart and Elizabeth Welch and brother Russell. Survived by three daughters, Debra (Samuel) Lauricella, Carol (Ernest) Tschanz, Joan (Daniel) Kretchmer. Also survived by brother J. Charles (Joanne) Welch and sister Ann (John) Curry. Grandchildren Carl (Lisa) and Patricia Lauricella, Virginia and Michael Tschanz.

Services and interment will be held privately at her request. Contributions can be made to Brockport Seymour Library in her memory.


•Jones, Kathleen, “Cathy” (Ranieri), Unexpectedly June 22, 2009. Survived by sisters, Eileen (Tom) Zampatori, Christine (Bill) Loeper; brothers, John and Albert Ranieri; best friend and caregiver, Lou Johnson; and a host of loving family and friends.

A Memorial Service was held June 27 at Open Arms Metropolitan Community Church. Private interment.

•Weigand, John G., June 27, 2009 at age 62, at home surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents Charles M. and Gladys (Kropp) Weigand. John is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Edwards) Weigand; his sons, Charles and Brian Weigand; his sister Sally Burkett of Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania; brother-in-law J. Mark (Kim) Edwards; four nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

•Girard, Rachael Marie “Ra Cha Cha,” Peacefully June 26, 2009 at age 17, surrounded by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her grandmother Anne E. Napieralski. She is survived by her loving parents, Martin and Donna; sister, Rebecca; brother, Joshua; grandparents, Peteus Staeyert, Mary and Raymond Girard; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. Rachael graduated from Hilton High School from her hospital room with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated July 2 at St. Leo’s Church, Hilton. Interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name can be directed to Ronald McDonald House, 333 Westmoreland Drive, Rochester, NY 14620.


•Lewis, Estelle A., Peacefully, June 30, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Jerry R. Lewis; her sons, James (Kelly) and L. Sam (Theresa) Savary; three grandchildren, Jacob, James and Samantha; her sister-in-law, Carol Grassadonia.

•Lynch, Warren J., age 96, June 24, 2009. Warren was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Helen (Casey) Lynch; children Mary and Timothy Lynch; grandchild Mick Lynch. He will be deeply missed by his children, Michael (Paula) Lynch, Patricia (John) Adesso, Dennis (Lavon) Lynch; brother Bernard (Carolyn) Lynch; sisters, Sr. Mary Ida Lynch, Sr. Mary Lynch, Gertrude (Curt) Amesbury; grandchildren Brian (Tina) Lynch, Doug (Jennifer) Lynch, Maureen (John) Maxim, Shannon (Charles) Siegler, Erinne Lynch, Christopher (Jill) Lynch, Scott (Zhenya) Adesso, Christopher (Kylee) Adesso, Kelly Adesso, Michael Adesso, Kristen Lynch; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends. Warren was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Hamlin and was a retiree of the Times Union after 45 years of service.

•Philip, Richard “Dick,” age 81, (formerly of Northborough, Massachusetts), after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley, in 1997, beloved daughter, Karen Bills in July of 2008. Dick is survived by three sons, Richard of Warwick, Rhode Island, Mark and his wife Lora of Hamlin, with whom he made his home, Joseph and his partner Mark Mattus of Worchester, Massachusetts. He also leaves two sisters, Elizabeth Vareschi of Hampton, New Hampshire and Elinor Leland and her husband William of Uxbridge, Massachusetts. Dick was a very proud grandfather of four, Michael Philip of Worchester, Massachusetts, Curtis Philip of Rochester, Heather Philip of Worchester, Massachusetts and Amanda Birardi of Liverpool, New York; and great-grandfather of six. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends including Jim and Sam Roberts of Hamlin, Pam and Chris Davis of Leicester, Massachusetts, the Rackus and Dallis families, Effie Amidon and Sue and Bob Karsaras, all of Northborough, Massachusetts. He will be sorely missed by his loving canine companions, Moose and Spinner. Dick worked for Neles-Jamesbury (Metso Automation) for several years retiring in 1996. He served his country during WWII with the U.S. Navy as an Electricians Mate Fireman.

Honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Interment at St. John’s Cemetery, Worchester, Massachusetts. Contributions can be made to one’s favorite animal based charity or to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741-5000 in his memory.


HILTON

•Harris, Dorothy R., June 18, 2009, age 94, in Evanston, Illinois. Brace, husband of 53 years, predeceased her in 1990. Survived by her children, Jane (Sheldon) Grad of Evanston, Illinois, Anne R. Harris of Coral Gables, Florida and twins Elizabeth (Michael) Hannaher of Moorehead, Minnesota and George (Janet) Harris of Kalama, Washington; her grandchildren are Jacob (Lara) Grad of New York City, Katherine Hannaher (David Zeller) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Rachael Grad of Cazadero, California and Ellen Hannaher of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Most recently Dorothy lived at Presbyterian Homes, a retirement community in Evanston, Illinois. She was a trustee of The Parma Public Library and a member of Hilton Book Club for many years. She was a longtime employee of Hilton Central School where she worked in the High School Guidance Dept. for many years. Dorothy and Brace were longtime members of Hilton Baptist Church.

A private Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Albion Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Parma Public Library, 7 West Avenue, Hilton in her memory.


•Mellen, Charlotte W., June 25, 2009, at age 94. She was predeceased by her husband Francis P. Mellen, her parents Willard and Maude Webster and her son-in-law Adolph Watkins. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne M. (Mitchell) Jacobs and Lynda M. Watkins; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held June 28 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Contributions can be made to Lifetime Care Hospice or Hamlin Community Baptist Church in her memory.


•Schaefer, Harold A., Peacefully June 26, 2009, age 86. Predeceased by his wife, Sophie, 2005, grandson, Brendan Barry. Survived by his children, Dixie Messenger, Harold (Nancy) Schaefer and Peggy (Steven) Hoock; his grandchildren, April (Jason) Knarr, Ann (Dan) Milbrandt, Ryan (Alicia) Messenger, Devin and Bradley Schaefer, Caitlin Barry; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Rebekah; his brothers, Charles (Dorothy), Alvin, Norman (Marlene); nieces and nephews.

•Westphal, Debra J., age 58, June 27, 2009. Predeceased by parents, Walter and Katherine Carlson. She is survived by husband Edward Westphal of 37 years; four children, James Westphal of Albion, Michele (Kevin) Foresti of Syracuse, Eric (Mikelann) Westphal of Spencerport, Heather (Chi) Hester of Nebraska; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Julia, Cody, Ella and CJ.
