•Arnold, Alton M., July 14, 2008 at age 89; husband of 64 years to Dorothy Kirtland Arnold; father of Marvin (Irene) Alton of Morrisville, Anne (Ken) Hale of Arcade and Deborah (Gene) Godlove of Bergen; brother of Jean Hider of Rochester and Elizabeth (Robert) Long of Bergen; also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held July 19 at Stone Church Presbyterian Church, Bergen. Contributions can be made to the Living Stones Fund at Stone Church Presbyterian Church, 7549 South Lake Road, Bergen, NY 14416 in his memory.


BROCKPORT

•DiSano, Dorothy J., July 9, 2008. Dorothy was beloved by her husband, children and grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph C. DiSano; children, Ken, Tony and Terri DiSano. Dorothy is survived by her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Pati and Pat Flavin, JoMarie and Greg Baron; adoring grandchildren Nicholas, Katie and Jenna Baron.

Burial will be held privately at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minnesota. Contributions can be made to Brockport Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 254, Brockport 14420 in her memory.


•Gillman, Ina C., July 7, 2008, at age 74. She is survived by her children, Bill (Margaret), Joe (Shirley), Bob Menear, Linda Krusemark; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; special niece, Eloise (Tom) Dershem.

Private Services and interment at the convenience of the family. Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association in her memory.


•Podlaski, Judith L., July 16, 2008 at age 63. She is survived by her children, Robert (Veronica) Podlaski, Laura Benoit, Louie Podlaski, Erick (Tammie) Podlaski Sean Podlaski, Quincy Podlaski; 11 grandchil-dren; three sisters; three brothers; many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was said July 19 at St. Theodore's Church, Gates. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.


CHURCHVILLE

•Davis, David P., July 12, 2008 at age 66. He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Doris Davis. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sue A. Davis; his son, Matthew Davis and fiancee Tosha Zimmerman; daughter Meg (Keith) Edwards; grandchildren, Abigail, Katherine and Olivia Edwards; siblings, John (Stella) Davis, Judith (Robert) Alwardt, Douglas Davis, Stephen (Mary Ellen) Davis, Deborah (Harold) Seelman; sister-in-law, Martha (Fred) DeVore; many nieces and nephews. Dave retired in 1998 with over 30 years service for Eastman Kodak Company. Recently a "greens keeper" with Churchville Golf Course.

A Memorial Service was held July 16 at St. Vincent De Paul Church, Churchville. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Churchville Lions Club, Churchville Fire Department or to a charity of one's choice in his memory.


CLARKSON

•Merino, Dora J. "Jean," On July 11, 2008 at the age of 75. Predeceased by her sister, Mary Lou Gesner and brother Clarence Smith Jr. She is survived by her sons Joseph "Michael" (Maria), Jonathan of Oregon and Daniel; companion of 34 years Lois Mac Eachern; grandchildren, Jason and Joey (Tara) Merino; great-grandchildren Gabrielle and Sofia Merino; nephews, Greg, Mark, Thomas, and Doug Gasner; brother-in-law, Robert Gasner. Jean retired from Lakeside Memorial Hospital after 20 years.

Funeral Services were held July 15 at the Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Interment, Lake View Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Mt. Carmel House, 4 Planet Street, Rochester 14606 in her memory.


HAMLIN

•Eveland, Judith, July 12, 2008. Survived by husband Daniel; daughter Tracy (John) Eisman; son, Michael (Karen) Gropp; grandchildren, Tyler, Kyla, Trevor and Andrew; sister, Barbara (Bob) Stinson; nieces and nephews; good friend, Deb Hartman.

A Memorial Mass was said July 18 at Church of the Assumption, Fairport. Contributions can be made to the Make A Wish Foundation in her memory.


HILTON

•Cleveland, Mary C. (Downey), July 15, 2008, age 85. She was predeceased by her husband, Elwood R. Cleveland and her grandson, Brian D. Strickland. Survived by her children, Dennis E. Cleveland, Janis M. Strickland, Loretta A. (Stuart) Hansel, Gloria J. Neumann, Donna M. (Donn) Carlton and David P. (Terri) Cleveland; eight grandchildren; 13.5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mary was employed as a Bus Driver for Hilton Central School for 25 years and a volunteer at Park Ridge Hospital.

A Funeral Mass was said July 18 at St. Leo Church, Hilton. Private interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.


•Shults, Anita R., Suddenly, July 11, 2008, age 63. Beloved wife of William; loving mother of Carrie, Bonnie (Walter) Howieson, Laura and Eric; beloved grandmother of five; several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Services were held July 17 at Open Arms MCC, Chili.


•Soeder, Edith G., July 10, 2008, age 95. Survived by her children, Sr. Marilyn Soeder, Frank (Lorraine) Soeder and Thomas (Patricia) Soeder; three grandchildren, Timothy, Robert and Michael Soeder; two great-grandchildren, Tannor and Lucas; her twin sisters, Elisabeth Ambrose and Mary R. Bevans.

HOLLEY

•Volkmar, James H., July 13, 2008, age 76. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor, 2003 and his granddaughter, Malory Grace. Survived by his children, Cheryl (Michael) Rhoda, James (Gina) Volkmar and Linda Volkmar; grandchildren Sean and Stephanie Rhoda, Nicholas Delvecchio, Jonathon and Daniela Volkmar; his brother, Charles (Sharon) Volkmar; his sisters, Mary Lociano, Joyce Zayas and Donna (Paul) Davis; also predeceased by his brother Ronald and sister, Jean Heinsler.

A Funeral Service was held July 17 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Interment with Military Honors, Parma Union Cemetery.


NORTH CHILI

•Fuller, Mary Y., July 14, 2008 at age 90. She was predeceased by her husband, Sanford "Sam" Fuller. She is survived by her children, Jeanette (David) Ess, James Fuller of Roseburg, Oregon; grandchildren Shelly Beechner, Eric (Kris) Ess, Tracy (Mark) DiOrio, Tina Nau; great-grandchildren, Donnie, Myah, Domenic, Kevin Jr., and Parker; brothers, William Losee of Garland, Texas; many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit #954 Churchville.

A Memorial Service was held July 19 at the United Methodist Church of Churchville. Contributions can be made to Harvey C. Noone Auxiliary Unit #954, Churchville 14428 in her memory.


OGDEN

•Jacobs, Charles J., July 15, 2008. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia Jacobs; beloved daughter, Linda Meyer; cherished grandsons, James Meyer and Christopher Meyer (US Army serving in Iraq); several nieces and nephews. He was the former owner of Jacob's Dairy Farm, formerly located in Gates.

Private services were held. Interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery.


SPENCERPORT

•Ames, Dawn Hall Hands, June 27, 2008, age 80. Dawn was a graduate of the Eastman School of Music in 1949. She taught music for 20 years in the Holley Central School District. She was predeceased by parents Philip and Grace Hall, and step-daughter Tammy Bischoping. She is survived by her husband, Beryl Ames; and children: Jeffrey (Wendy) Hands, Marcie (Nick) Marsik, Susan (Dwayne) Granger, Debbie (Ronald) Granger, Bruce Ames; as well as numerous grandchildren.

•Johnson, Wilhemena, July 14, 2008. Survived by daughter, Shirley; sons, Johnny, Thurman and Fred Johnson; brothers, Willie, Zack (Joyce) Johnson.

Funeral Services were held July 19 at Miracle Deliverance Center, Rochester. Interment Falls Cemetery.


•Sisson, K. Louise, died in Port Charlotte, Florida on June 6, 2008. Louise taught for many years at Spencerport High School, and served as a guidance counselor until her retirement. She was very active as a volunteer in many Florida charities. Her husband, Robert G. Sisson, predeceased her. She leaves behind stepsons Ronald (Marcia) and Richard (Donna) Sisson; five grandchildren, Julie, Mike and Adam Sisson, Kevin and Jenny Borden; several nieces and nephews; dear friends Patty Brown and Bobby Tanner; and many much loved former students and colleagues.

Services were held in Florida. Those wishing can contribute in her memory to Aurora House, P.O. Box 21, Spencerport, NY 14559 or the Humane Society.


•Surman, Joseph S., Age 51, died unexpectedly on July 11, 2008 at his residence. Born on February 14, 1957 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Stanley S. Surman of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Caroline (nee Leo) Surman. Joseph worked for the former Moore Business Forms, now known as Peak Technologies. In addition to his father, Mr. Surman is survived by one son Johnathan B. Surman of Willowick, Ohio; one sister, Mary Forster of Niagara Falls and one brother, Stanley S. Surman of Niagara Falls. Joseph is also survived by nieces and nephews, Amanda, Nicholas and Samantha Forster of Niagara Falls, among other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by an infant son, Joseph.

Funeral Services were held July 17 at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home, Niagara Falls. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.


•Warner, Jeanne M., July 9, 2008, at age 84. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert. Survived by sons, Bradley (financee Pamela Quayle) and Michael (Elaine) Warner; grandchildren, Leyla Metzger, Rebecca Killbride, Peter and Kelly Warner; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Francis (Therese) O'Connor;

Interment was held privately.
