BROCKPORT
Akers, Gary D., Sr., On July 18, 2008, he is predeceased by his parents Curt and Velma Akers and two sisters, Joyce and Nona. He is survived by his children Gary (Karry) Akers, Judy (Eric) Gooding, Tracy (JR) Napoleon and their mother Claudette, Chad Akers, Bridget, Roxanne, and Tara and their mother Debbie; brothers Richard, Victor and Craig; sisters Brenda Fox, Karen Mitchell and Pamela Sutton; 18 grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins , in-laws and friends.
A Memorial Service was held July 22 at Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport.
Barton, Charles W., Memorial Services have been scheduled for Charles W. Barton, 83, who died May 8, 2008. Friends are invited to the service on Monday, July 28, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia.
Contributions can be made to National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 N. W. 9th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33136-1494 in his memory.
Sauls, Ensign E. (Ernie), On July 22, 2008. He is survived by his wife Georgia; two daughters Barbara Graves and Joanne Sauls; two grandsons, Timothy (Delia) Dudley and Patrick Dudley; great-grandson, Ryan Dudley.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Swift, Karen E., On July 21, 2008. She is survived by her husband, Michael; her children Christopher (Chaley), Denise, Jason (Ellen) and Daniel; five grandchildren Joel, Richie, Jenna, Jared and Jimmie; mother Elizabeth; brother Kevin; niece, Heather Jennejohn; also several other nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
A Funeral Mass was said July 25 at the Church of the Nativity BVM, Brockport. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Lollypop Farm in her memory.
Young, Frida, Age 102. A lifetime resident of Brockport, she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Young. She is survived by her son, Eugene F. (Judy) Young; daughter, Marcia Y. Blair; grandchildren, Diane M. Bassett and Karen Y. Bowser; and seven great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held July 25 at Brighton Presbyterian Church, Rochester.
CHILI
Fitzsimons, Ann M. (Scott), July 19, 2008, at age 77. She is predeceased by her husband, Howard. She is survived by her children, Patrick (Mary), Steven, Margaret Ann Fitzsimons-Quick and Michael Earl Fitzsimons; grandchildren, Michele (Frank Angelo) Vega, Shannon and Danielle Fitzsimons, Tammy Quick and Jessica Slattery; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Corky (Henry) Grandy; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass was said July 23 at the Church of the Annunciation, Rochester. Private interment.
Schickler, Eugene D., July 18, 2008 at age 79. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Therese (Russer) Schickler; children: Susan (Bob), Peter, Barbara (Sandy), Amy (Michael) Thornton, Meg (Craig) LeBeau, Stephen, Martha (Tom) Fantauzzo; siblings: Charles (Romie), Robert (Marilyn), Ed (Barbara), Jack (Peggy), Doris (Don) Kepler, Alice (Hatim) Doctor; Paula (Stan) Rudger; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Tom, parents, Joseph and Marcella; sisters, Mytle (Francois) Peter and Mary Benner. He was a carpenter and retired from the Gates-Chili School District. He was a longtime member of the Chili Fire Department and Vice President of the Chili Fireman's Exempt Club.
A Memorial Service was held July 21 at St. Pius X Church. Contributions can be made to the Chili Fire Department or Hospice of Rochester in his memory.
CHURCHVILLE
Moore, Jessie L. (Leibeck), On July 17, 2008, at the age of 84. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 61 years, Edgar E. Moore; her daughter, Pamela A. Moore (husband Gilbert Budd) of Churchville; son, Gary E. Moore (Ellen) and four grandchildren, Aaron E. (Ashley), Evan E. (Fiancé Laura), Melissa M. and Jonathan L., all of Concord, North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy E. Pharoah; a brother, John P. Leibeck (Jean) and a brother-in-law, Donald E. Moore (Carol) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Jessie was a strong believer in the importance of family, God and the heritage of her community and country. She was a teacher at RIT and BOCES II, and a member of the Harvey C. Noone Legion Auxiliary.
A Funeral Mass was said July 22 at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Churchville. Interment, St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Jessie L. Korber, Richard "Rick" R., Age 55 on July 22, 2008. Predeceased by his brother James Mullins. He is survived by his wife, Claudia; parents, Harold R. (Marcia) Korber and Betty Lou (Dave) Goodridge; daughter, Melissa (Terry) Hayes; son, Richard Jr. (Liz); grandchildren Madelyn and Sean Hayes; brothers, David Korber and Gary Thompson; sisters, Bonnie Kalpine; several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was said July 25 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Brockport. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Paws Animal Shelter, 3371 Gaines Basin Road, Albion in his memory.

Shannon, John H., On July 14, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Frieda; daughter Lisa (Dale) Erne; son, James (Lisa); sister, Patricia (James) Collins; mother-in-law, Rose Farmen; five grandchildren Mitchell, Ryan and Sean Erne, John and Danyel Shannon; several nieces, nephews and many close friends; granddogs, Zoey and Raven. Member of: Chairperson of RIT Mechanical Engineering Technological Industrial Advisory Board and member of BOCES Industrial Advisory Board.
A Memorial Service will be held August 8 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Arndt Funeral Home, 1118 Long Pond Road, Greece. Private interment. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
Verstreate, Muriel M. (Merkel), On July 19, 2008, at age 70. She is survived by her children, Robin (Dave) Sanza, Vicky (Terry) Brown, Sandy, Bobby, Charles Verstreate; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother Stephen Merkel; many nieces and nephews.

HILTON
Mance, Thomas C., July 21, 2008, age 85. Predeceased by his wife Sarah "Sally", 1976. Survived by his children Charles (Theresa), Patricia, Bruce, Lawrence (Joyce) and Christine Mance; six grandchildren, Thomas (Christy), Stephen, Peter, Timothy, Rebecca and Heidi Mance; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Avia; two brothers, Daniel (Elaine) and Paul (Mary Ann) Mance; sister-in-law, Janet Mance; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also predeceased by his brother James. He was a WWII Combat Veteran and a Kodak retiree, 1981.
A Funeral Mass was said July 25 at St. Leo Church, Hilton, followed by a Military Graveside Service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Diabetes, Heart or Lung Associations, or Masses offered in his memory.
OGDEN
Bourcy, Paul C., On July 19, 2008. Predeceased by his wife, Betsy on July 23, 2000. Survived by two sons, Rev. Robert Scott Bourcy and Paul Richard Bourcy; grandson, Neil Bourcy; sister-in-law, Marilyn Bailey; special friend, Mary Cassidy; nieces and nephews. Paul was a licensed funeral director for over 50 years in the Rochester area, and was secretary of the Funeral Directors Association from 1967 to 1981, a member of Holy Ghost Church for over 50 years and an Army Veteran of WWII.
A Funeral Mass was said July 24 at Holy Ghost Church. Interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Fairport Baptist Home, 4646 Nine Mile Point Road, Fairport 14450 or to Holy Ghost Church in his memory.
Gross, Shana C., July 12, 2008. Survived by her parents, Glenn and Janet; six year old daughter, Nevaeh; grandmother, Bernice Manley; brothers, Jason (Maria), Shawn, Jeremy and Jacob; several nieces and nephews.
