•Updike, Elizabeth Jean (McCrea), On September 18, 2010 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her husbands Anthony Corona and Loren Updike and her brother Donald McCrea. She is survived by her nephews Rodney (Liz) McCrea, Jeffrey (Shawn) McCrea; niece Jacquelyn (Robert) Mosher; several grand and great grand nieces and nephews.

Interment will be private. Donations can be made to the Villages of Orleans Nursing Home, 14012 Route 31 West, Albion, NY 14411 in her memory.


BERGEN

•Bentley, Robert H., Jr., Died September 16 in Richmond, Virginia. Robert is survived by his four children, Teresa Schroder of Waterloo, James Boughton of Atlanta, Georgia; Robert Bentley III of Richmond, Virginia and Philip Bentley of Washington, DC; his sister Barbra Hall of Durango, Colorado; his step mother Virginia Bentley of Canandaigua; and four grandchildren Melissa, Genevieve, Alysia, and James.

BROCKPORT

•Cardillo, Ruth E., age 81, died September 20, 2010 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Lorraine. She is survived by her brothers Richard (Shirley) of Olivet, Michigan and Arnold (Mary Lou) of Hilton; nieces Susan Nolen of Medina, Pennsylvania, Sandra (Jeffrey) Shifrin of Wilton, Connecticut, Cathy (Steven) Fitzner of Bellevue, Michigan and one nephew Richard (Deanne) Cardillo of Evergreen, Colorado. Also survived by nine great nieces and nephews and many cousins. Ruth was a veteran of the U. S. Naval Reserve, Yeoman First Class, earning both the Armed Forces Medal and the Navy Meritorious Medal during 26 years of service. She retired as the Industrial Relations Director for Owens Illinois Brockport after 25 years. She was a long standing member of the Zonta Club of Rochester where she was a recipient of the Heart Award for her dedication and services as well as a 40 years member of Professional Secretaries International’s Flower City Chapter. She has been recognized for Community Service with the City of Rochester’s Volunteerism Award and a Congressional Certificate of Appreciation.

A Memorial Service was held September 25 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Private interment. Contributions can be made to the Zonta Foundation Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 10545, Rochester 14610 in her memory.


•Christopher, Pamela C. “Pammie” (Preston), Age 66, died September 18, 2010. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald of 46 years; three children, Brian (Elizabeth), Todd (Kay), Colleen Christopher; brother, Darryl Preston; four grandchildren, Marissa, Brendon, Michael and Nathan.

CHILI

•Gordon, Donald A., September 18, 2010, age 85. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Phyllis; daughters, Janet Bonner and Barbara Thompson; two grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah) Thompson and George Bonner II; two great-grandchildren Luke and Loui. Donald was a WWII Marine veteran. He worked for the University of Rochester Medical Center for 34 years and 16 years as a consultant in Forensic Serology.

CHURCHVILLE

•Alexander, Gladys Balch, age 84, formerly of Bergen, an employee of Roberts Wesleyan College for 17 years prior to her retirement in 1988, died September 18, 2010 at her home in Churchville. She was a member of Pearce Memorial Church for over 55 years. Her husband, David E. Alexander, died September 20, 2004. Survivors include five sons, David D. (Barbara) Alexander of South Carolina, K. Scott (Margaret) Alexander of California, B. Bradley Alexander of Brockport, B. Todd Alexander of New Jersey, L. Lance (Kathleen) Alexander of Churchville; a daughter, Ruth A. (Mark) Logan of Churchville; sisters-in-law, Pat Balch of Florida, Kathyrn Alexander of Gerry and Lucille Alexander of Perry; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Benson R. Balch and Kenneth Balch.

•Hayes, William E., September 13, 2010 at age 95. Preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Eleanor. Survived by son, William Jr. (Rae Jean); daughter, Kathleen (Thomas) Etsler; daughter, Carol Hayes; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He worked for many years at General Railway Signal Co. and with his wife, owned and operated the Avondale Restaurant in Avon. He was also a member of the Conesus Lake Sportsmen Club.

Services were held privately.

•Frisbee, Etta G., September 22, 2010, age 94. Predeceased by her husbands, Rudy Jones killed Guam, 1944 and Jack Frisbee, a WWII Vet, 1992. Survived by her sister, Beatrice (Everett) Zarpentine; many nieces and nephews including Linda (Charles) Myers, Richard (Peggy Sue) Zarpentine, Eugene and Norman Hart; great-nieces and nephews, Charles Myers III, Matthew and David Myers, Kristie and Donald Grimble. Also predeceased by her brother, LaVerne Hart.

•Shaw, Richard F., September 18, 2010, age 62. Survived by his wife of 33 years, Sharon (Woods) Shaw; his son, Kevin M. (Kelli) Shaw; grandchildren, Ryan, Morgan and Madison Shaw. Predeceased by his son, Brian P. Shaw, 1996. Richard was a graduate of MCC, SUNY at Brockport and RIT. He retired from Eastman Kodak as a Statistical Engineer.

•Timian, Teresa L., September 20, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents, Oscar Judd, Jr. and Elaine (McNulty) Judd. Survived by children, Patricia A. Coffee (Keith), Albion, Charles R. Voorhees Jr. (Dawn), Albion, Kim M. (Gillette) Cannova (Mike), Springwater, Linda J. Weller (Mitch), Albion; grandchildren, Shannon Fair, Jennifer (Mike) Allis, Amy (Ryan) Mayes, Amanda Voorhees, Adam Voorhees, Jessica (Vincent) Shellenberger, Betsy (Ellis) Oster, Kyle Gillette, Michael Cannova II, Michael Weller, Rebeca Weller, and Jacob Weller; five great-grandchildren, Landen, Luca, Somer, Lily and Caroline. •Robbins, Gregory James, Suddenly, died September 12, 2010, age 51. He is survived by Bianca Robbins; one daughter Sharon Robbins Tackley (Chyenne Tackley Jr.); three grandchildren, Savannah, Chyenne III, Shelby; two siblings, Sharon in California, Richard in Texas and several nieces and nephews.

•Daly, Catherine R., of North Chili, formerly of Spencerport, died September 16, 2010 at age 95. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Richard Daly. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Linda), Ronald (Jean) and Kevin Daly; sister, Marge Tatters; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Kitty was a member and Past Matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Etolian Chapter #308.

•Feldmann, Dennis F., Born in Williston Park, NY in 1934 passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Predeceased by his parents, William and Anna Feldmann; brothers, William J. Feldmann and John J. Feldmann, and sister, Sally Feldmann. Survived by his wife Marie E. Feldmann; son, William A. (Holly) Feldmann; grandsons, Ryan P. and Adam W. Feldmann; brother Gerald Feldmann; sisters, Mary M. Justs and Kathryn Maniscalco; sisters-in-law, Elva Fritton, Jean Koenig, Muriel Mann; brother-in-law, Herbert Koenig; and many nieces and nephews. Dennis started his education career teaching in Royalton Hartland Central School, Middleport, NY in 1961. He was Elementary Principal in Dalton School in 1967 and became High School Principal in the Keshequa Central School System from 1968 to 1975. He served the Wheatland Chili Central School as High School Principal from 1975 until his retirement in 1991.

•Kasper, William H. (Poor Ole Bill), September 21, 2010, age 85. Predeceased by his daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Kasper and grandson, Michael J. Holford. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Nita; children, Kathy Stuewe, Nancy (Ed) Volkmuth, William (Linda), Sue (Ron) Harrison, Joan Angel, Robert (Shelley), Don (Cindy), David (Marcia) Paul (Linda); grandchildren, Lisa (Eric), Karen (Mike), Michelle, Tracy, Heather, Christopher (Rachel), Kelly (Brian), Sara, Elyse, Lenora, Kristy, Casey, Blake, David, Ryan, Charlie; ten great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. Bills is a veteran of WWII. He was a Navy Aviation Machinist Mate, a 50 year member of the Melvin Michalski Post #1328, a retiree of 40 years at Pfaudler Co. and a longtime member of Rovers Golf League.

•Gardner, Henry Jim, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Spencerport, died September 16, 2010. He was employed by the Ogden Highway Department for 25 years and was a foreman for many of those years. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Anna Gardner; daughter-in-law Judith Gardner; grandchildren: Debbie (Art) Hunt, Linda (Dennis) Yueckstock, Scott (Tara) Gardner, Todd (Libby) Gardner; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters Julie Bayer, Irene Bertsch, Monnie (Jerry) Webster; several nieces and nephews, and one special niece Patricia (John) Hendricks. He was predeceased by his loving son Hank Gardner.

•Yuskiewicz, Mary A. (Orlowsky), “Mrs. Mary,” September 16, 2010 at age 89. Mary is predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Edward Yuskiewicz and her parents, Michael and Mary Orlowsky of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Mary is survived by her daughter, Marylou Yuskiewicz; brothers, Joe Orlowsky, Bill Orlowsky; sister Ann Kozak; nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. She worked at NYC Doctor’s Hospital as an LPN and in retail for many years. She was a Show Secretary for her daughter’s horseshows. She was a member of the Spencerport American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Ogden Neighborhood Watch.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated September 20 at St. Jude the Apostle Church. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice in her memory.
