ALBION

•Kernan, Jean E. (Doorley), age 77, died October 21, 2008 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Keith E. Kernan, and immediate family of four daughters, Carole (Jeff) Mitchell, Lee Anne (Jamie) Jedamski, Sharon (Matt) Sugar and Kathryn (Steve) Harling, all of the Albion area; and five sons, Keith (Peggy) of Salem, Oregon, William (Pam) of Waterbury, Vermont, and Daniel, Reuben and Nathan of Kendall; nineteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn (Joe) Ahearn of Bath, Alice (Bill) Hoffman of Elma, Betty Angell of Granville, Massachusetts; and brother, Joe (Peg) Doorley of Almond; numerous nieces and nephews.

BERGEN

•Adams, Jessie E., She is predeceased by her first husband, Nelson, second husband Harry and son Nelson. Survived by her children Shirley (Thomas) Fingland, Marilyn (Richard) Fisher, Carol (Robert) Magoffin; daughter-in-law Betty Adams; sisters, Edith Nichols, Lucille Lowden; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held October 29 at United Methodist Church, Churchville. Contributions can be made to United Methodist Church, West Buffalo Street, Churchville 14428 in her memory.


BROCKPORT

•Daniels, Jean M. (VerHulst), October 25, 2008. Predeceased by her sons, John and Steven Daniels; and parents John and Mildred VerHulst. Survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Dannette Daniels; her sister, Janet Gallup; her grandchildren, Mikel and Jarren Daniels; her nephew, Jason Gallup; her uncle, Joseph VerHulst and several cousins.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated October 29 at St. Lawrence Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1650 South Avenue, Suite 100, Rochester 14620 in her memory.


•Jubenville, Robert L., 88, predeceased by his wife Virginia, in April of this year. Robert is survived by his two children, Diana (son Tristan) and Jeffrey (wife Elizabeth, and their two sons Jacob and Tanner). Born in Kendall in 1920, he lived most of his life in Brockport. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1940 and was part of the 209th Coast Artillery. He received a degree from SUNY Oswego after the war. He was employed at Bausch and Lomb for over 16 years and later was employed in the placement department at SUNY Brockport for 17 years, where he received his master's degree. Robert was also an avid flyer out of Ledgedale Airport for many years.

Private family burial at Lakeview Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the VFW or Brockport Ambulance in his memory.


CLARENDON

•Palmer, Burton S., Age 93, October 28, 2008. Survived by wife of 44 years, Stella; son, James (Missy); daughter, Lodema (Dan) Jones; stepson, LaVern (Janet) Williams; stepdaughter, Kathy (Paul) Carpenter; step-brother, Richard Palmer; stepsister, Georgia Pawlaczyk; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Private services and interment were held in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Clarendon Fire Company in his memory.


•Robertson, Maejel, 82, formerly of Clarendon, died at the Jewish Home of Rochester on October 27, 2008. She was born on May 5, 1926 in Clarendon, NY, a daughter of Roy and Isabel Brooks. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and the Rebekah Lodge. She was predeceased by her husband Leon "Mark" in 2001. Survived by her children: Susan (Tom) Persia of Clarendon, Roy (Margie) Robertson of Brockport, Anne (Tom) Piedmont of Arizona, Rosemary (Doug) Catlin of Brockport; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many friends.

Funeral Services were held October 30 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Holley. Interment, Hillside Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Holley Community Library in her memory.


HAMLIN

•Brightly, Laurence E., October 23, 2008 at age 84. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bernice (Preston) Brightly; their children, Deborah (Richard) Smith, Darlene Stratton, David (Karen) Brightly, Daniel (LuAnn) Brightly, Dean (Jeanne) Brightly; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Laurence was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the VFW Post 6703 and their Honor Guard.

Funeral Services were held October 26 at the Kendall United Methodist Church. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery with military honors. Contributions can be made to the Kendall United Methodist Church, 1808 Kendall Road, Kendall 14476 in her memory.


•Murtagh, Edward S. "Stape," "U.E.," October 14, 2008. Survived and adored by his loving wife Susan (Jamison); children; Michael (Dee), Thomas and Karen Biegas (Tom Versage); step-children Amy, Kara (godchild) and Molly Lomondo; grandchildren: Michael Jr., Siobhan Murtagh, JJ Biegas and Trevor Murtagh; his niece Bonnie Pedano (godchild); former wife, Myrtle Murtagh. Predeceased by his sister, Shirley Kirk; his mother Helen Hayes Murtagh. Also, leaves his close friends: Al Webber, The Lomondo Family, Barb Gentile and Jami Jamison. Ed was a graduate of George Junior Republic School, a former amateur hockey player, youth hockey coach and mentor, retired 30-year Operating Engineer at DeWitt Concrete; attended Park Ridge Free Methodist Church.

A Memorial Service was held November 1 at Park Ridge Free Methodist Church, Greece. Contributions can be made to Unity Adult Day Services at St. Bernard's, 2260 Lake Avenue, Bldg. 5, Rochester 14612 or to the Alzheimer's Association/Rochester Chapter in his memory.


HILTON

•Coistek, Mary T. (Fargo), October 25, 2008. Survived by her son, Daniel John Coistek (Deborah Thomson); daughter and son-in-law, Cheree (Thomas) Marano; grandson, Daniel John II; dear relatives and friends. Mary was predeceased by her husband, John and grandson, Rocco Giorgione III.

•Holtz, Mabel A., age 92, October 25, 2008. Predeceased by her parents, Carol and Minnie Holtz. She is survived by several cousins and good friends, Ron and Beverly Crandall.

HOLLEY

•Gifaldi, Angeline M., On October 21, 2008, at age 84. A lifelong resident of Holley, Angie is survived by her loving husband, Americo (Chipper); brother, Donald DiNicola; sons: David (Marita), Mark, Paul (Linda); grandchildren: Vanessa, Heather Scott (Kirk), Samantha, Adam, Gina, Brian; great-grandchildren: Ella and Ava Scott.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held October 25 at St. Mary's Church, Holley. Contributions can be made to The Villages of Orleans, Albion in her memory.


SPENCERPORT

•Bristol, Wallace B., Jr., October 21, 2008 at age 80. Predeceased by his wife, Donna M. He is survived by his sons, Ronald Bristol and Daniel (Karen) Bristol of Williamson; grandchildren, Jaycee and Michaella Bristol and Jason Barabasz; sister, Mary Suplee. Wallace was a member of the American Legion Post #330.

•Zarpentine, Lyle H., October 26, 2008, at age 75. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Mary (Murphy) Zarpentine. He is survived by his children, Lynn Zarpentine, Kyle (Jacki) Zarpentine and Lee (Barbara) Zarpentine; his beloved granddaughters, Katlin, Leighann and Kara; his sisters, Doris Foster and Neva (Truman) Clements; many nieces and nephews. Lyle was Past President and a 56-year member of the Spencerport Volunteer Fire Department; Past President of the Spencerport Firemen's Exempt; Past President of the Monroe County Fire Police Association; an Army veteran of the Korean Era and a member of Ferris Goodridge American Legion Post #330.

A Funeral Mass was said October 29 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Spencerport. Interment St. John's Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the School of the Holy Childhood in his memory.
