Hilton school district surveys
community on pre-kindergarten needs
The Hilton Board of Education has formed a Universal Pre-Kindergarten Committee which is charged with researching and reporting on the "possible institution of educational programs for children ages three and four within the public school system or through private providers" according to Committee Co-Chair, Assistant Principal at Northwood Elementary School, Karen Bolinger.
The 20-member committee has published a survey for the community in the Hilton District Newsletter, Insight Into Your Schools' November issue. The survey is expected to gather important community perspective regarding the current or prospective use of preschool/pre-kindergarten services.
The Pre-Kindergarten Committee meets monthly in the West Avenue Building of the Hilton School District in order to prepare a report for the Board of Education to be presented in January 2001 according to Mrs. Bolinger. The October meeting included speakers from area school districts which already have existing pre-kindergarten programs.
