Locations sought for the Heart to Hearth concerts

At-home concerts for groups of senior citizens are being scheduled for February 8, 2001, part of the 12th annual Band Outreach Project of the Spencerport music program known as Heart to Hearth.

Small groups of well-prepared middle school band students (about 8-10) perform duets, trios and quartets in the homes of the seniors. In addition they recite original poetry and offer gifts of cheer. The twenty minute concerts are held in the living room during the school day with the host or hostess providing an open space. No chairs, music stands or refreshments are needed. Students are accompanied by an adult chaperone and they look forward to socializing with the seniors of the community on outreach day.
