Brockport village rental property red-tagged
An Erie Street student housing residence was red-tagged Saturday night, November 4 for violations of zoning and building codes prohibiting the sale of alcohol without a liquor license. Police Chief Gary Zimmer said a "rather large" house party was underway at 41 Erie Street when police officers attention was drawn to the property by a youth throwing a beer bottle at a police vehicle driving by. The youth turned out to be a 15 year-old.
Zimmer said numerous arrests were made at the property and more are pending. Zimmer complimented the property owner for "his assistance. He was very upset with the actions of his tenants."
Zimmer said his department will continue to "drive home the message that underage drinking and the illegal sale of alcohol will not be tolerated in the village."
