Hill School students learn about Veteran's Day
Pete Barber spoke of his days as a gunner aboard a B-24 Liberator during World War II. Barber and other area veterans recently shared stories of their service in the armed forces, the meaning of Veteran's Day and the importance of remembering veterans on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month with students at the Brockport Hill Elementary School.
Barber urged the students to read a lot about history. "That's where you learn a lot about life," he said.
Other area veterans who visited the Hill School include: Bill Reardon, Army-WWII; Ron Ayrault, Navy-Korea; Joe Eighmeg, Army-WWII; Dan Sell, Desert Storm; Bill Wells, Navy-Vietnam; Jim Conley, Navy-Korea; and Lew Randall, Navy-Korea.
