AREA

•Iacuzza, Grace, October 17, 2000 at age 92 of California. Predeceased by husband, Charles. Survived by daughter, Virginia Figenscher, Brockport; sons, Joseph (Gerry), Hilton; Phillip (Mary), Greece; brother, Anthony (Clara) Rizzo; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass was held at Our Lady of Mercy on December 9.


ALBION

•Stamp-Howes, Elizabeth D., December 6, 2000 at the age of 81 following a long illness. Born in the Town of Sweden, Mrs. Howes resided in this area for most of her lifetime. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Albion. She was also a member of T.O.P.S. and the Orleans County 4-H. Mrs. Howes was accredited with raising 168 foster children. She was employed as a seamstress at the Orleans County Nursing Home Green Thumb Program in her later years.

She is survived by her children Kenneth (Mabel) Stamp of Rome, Beverley Stamp-Lonnen of Albion, Jerry (Mary Ellen Hamil) Woodcock of Hulberton and Leon Stamp of Florida. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn Carlson of Albion and Bernice Nettin of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Orleans County Nursing Home at a future date. Memorial remembrances can be made to the Orleans County Nursing Home Activities Fund.


BROCKPORT

•Connors, E. Jay, died peacefully with his family by his side on November 19 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was born on January 23, 1922 the son of the late Catherine and Edward Connors. He was born above the Connors Corner Coffee Shop owned by his parents at the corner of Main and Market Streets.

Mr. Connors grew up in Brockport and delivered newspapers every morning and evening. He also ran a small penny saver paper and was a ventriloquist performing in small night clubs while in high school. After graduating from Brockport High School, he went to Electronics School in Kansas City. During World War II he served in the Merchant Marine.

After the war he worked at Hickey Freeman before entering Eastman Kodak. He spent 18 years at Kodak before joining Duryea Ford as a salesman. He remained one of New York state's top salesmen until he retired in 1984.

Mr. Connors was also well known in Brockport for his student housing and other real estate holdings. At one time in the 1970's he had well over 125 students living in his properties. Over the years he gradually sold most of his houses.

During the past 12 years, he and his wife of fifty years, Kathleen, split their time between Brockport and Fort Lauderdale. He was Vice President of the condominium board in Fort Lauderdale. He was also a member of the Newman Oratory, Knights of Columbus and Elks.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Maureen and son-in-law Paul Fortner of Brockport, grandchildren P. Jay Fortner of Chicago and Katie Fortner of Brockport. He was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Kelly.

A Christian Burial mass was held on November 22 at Assumption Church in Pompano Beach, Florida. Those wishing can make contributions in his memory to Lakeside Memorial Hospital, Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.


•Higgins, Mary Ann T. (Crowley), November 28, 2000 at the age of 75. Survived by her beloved husband, James; children, Timothy, Michael (Gail); four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass was held December 2 at the Church of the Nativity B.V.M., Brockport. Interment at the convenience of the family. Memorials can be made to the Clarendon Volunteer Ambulance Corps.


•Mufford, Harold G. "Bud," On November 29, 2000. He is survived by his beloved wife, Norrene; daughters, Lori Mufford, Nancy (David) Wild and Marcia (Kevin) Johnson; one grandson; sister, June Burke; nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of WWII and a retiree of General Electric. He served the Town of Sweden as a Councilman, member of the Joint Recreation Commission and the Zoning Board.

A Memorial Service was held December 2 at Brockport United Methodist Church. CHILI

•Dickens, Donald W., December 5, 2000 at age 90. Survived by two daughters, Susan (E.J.) Leahy of Chili with whom he lived, Donna (Karis) Kemp of Florida; four grandchildren.

A Funeral Service was held at the convenience of the family. Memorials can be made to the Chili Fire Department or Lollypop Farm.


•Hines, Henry F., December 5, 2000. Suddenly at age 81. Predeceased by wife, Regina (Jean) in 1999. Survived by his son, Charles (Janice) Hines; daughter, Pat (Franz) Seischab; sister, Catherine (Fred) McAdam; sister-in-law, Helen Ferrin; four grandchildren; one great grandson; several nieces and nephews. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII; a long time employee of Davenport Tool and Die, and past Monroe County Commander of the VFW. He was a member of Patchen Briggs VFW Post #307.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Home Chapel, 150 Highland Avenue, Saturday, December 23 at 2:30 p.m. Memorial gifts can be made to St. John's Home, 150 Highland Avenue, Rochester 14620.


CLARENDON

•Dodson, Patricia A., At age 66, suddenly on December 1, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas E. Dodson Sr. and their children, Thomas E. (Cindy) Dodson Jr. of Albion, Jeffrey (Susan) Dodson of Clarendon, Yvonne (Michael) of North Carolina, John (Patty) Dodson of Clarendon, Lucinda (Camilio) Leal of Clarendon and William (Amy) Dodson of Holley. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; three great grand-children; two brothers; two sisters and a half sister and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held December 4 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Interment in North Byron Cemetery. Memorial remembrances can be made to the Clarendon Emergency Squad.


•Sherwood, Gladys, December 1, 2000 at the Medina Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her children, Carl (Barbara) Sherwood of Brockport, Betty (Adolph) Genter of Albion and Joyce Bell of Rochester; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

•Bower, G. Lucille (Redick), December 4, 2000 at age 81. Formerly of Brockport and Holley. She is survived by her husband, Harvey Bower; her children, Gerald, John, Michael (Lynn Lemon), Rick (Terry) and Lena Bower; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; former daughter-in-law, Sheryl Bower; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

•Kast, Goldie C., November 28, 2000 at age 77. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Kast; her children, Judith (David) Smalley, Pamela (Matthew) Davidio, Robert (Mary) and David (Lisa) Kast; seven grandchildren; her brother, Paul (Gerry) Chapman; her sister, Shirley (Robert) Cooper; sister-in-law, Fannie Chapman. She was predeceased by her son, Ronald Kast and her brothers, Kenneth and Alfred Chapman. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends.

•LiCursi, Della M. (Rocco), At age 80, died December 1, 2000. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin A. LiCursi on October 17, 2000 and a brother, Michael Rocco. She is survived by her son, Martin J. LiCursi of Spencerport; daughter, MaryAnn (James) Mulkin of Vermont; two grandchildren; sister, Lucille Boungiorne of Holley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

•Mele, Domenica (Nenni) At age 81 died November 29, 2000. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfonso. She is survived by two children, Anna M. Penna and Charles (Mary Jo) Mele both of Holley; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Lillian Campanaro of Rochester; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

NORTH CHILI

•Cammilleri, Donald, November 30, 2000. Husband of Joanne (Benham); son of Leo Cammilleri. Also survived by son-in-law, Joseph Tomasso; two grandchildren; mother-in-law Clara Spampinato; sisters-in-law, Virginia (Bernie) McCullen and Sarah (Francis) Sledzinski; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

OGDEN

VanderTang, Ilona, November 17, 2000 of Florida. Predeceased by her husband, Henry VanderTang, Jr., She was a member of the Ogden Baptist Church for 68 years. She is survived by two sons, Henry (Sharon) VanderTang, III and David (Carolyn) VanderTang; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Ogden Baptist Church at a later date.


SPENCERPORT

•Beale, Elizabeth J. "Betty," Monday, December 4, 2000. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Beale; her son, Randy and her grandson, Matthew. She is survived by her children, Scott (Mary) Beale of Spencerport, Wendy (Tom) Thomas of Greece, Cheryl (Joe) Deleo of Henrietta and Sue (Bill) Lerkins of Greece; nine grandchildren; one great grandson.

Funeral Services were held December 8 at the Walker Brothers Company Funeral Home, Inc., Spencerport. Interment, Parma Corners Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Spencerport Volunteer Ambulance in her memory.


•Maurer, Irene C., November 27, 2000 at age 85. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold A. Maurer. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Florence) Chandler; her niece, Murial Taylor; her nephew, Keith Kenngott all of Florida and many dear neighbors and friends. She was a member of Nola Chapter No. 320 OES and a member of Ogden Baptist Church. She and her husband owned the Red and White Store in Town Pump for many years.
