SpenceRPOrt concert series deadline is December 15
Members of the Spencerport community are invited to participate in the fourth SpenceRPOrt Concert Connection Series. This special music education program is offered in conjunction with the Spencerport Central Schools, the Spencerport Music Association and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO).
As in the past, series registrants will attend four "informances" held at Cosgrove Middle School and four corresponding RPO concerts held at the Eastman Theatre. The informances include a performance by RPO musicians, a brief talk, and a question and answer session followed by refreshments.
The concerts, informance topics and guests, and dates for all events are described in the series registrations forms available at Cosgrove Middle School, the Ogden Farmers' Library and which are being sent home with the student musicians in the Spencerport district. Bus transportation (limited to 60 people) will be offered for each of the concerts.
Unique instruments such as the bass trumpet, contra bass trombone, Wagner tuba, harpsichord, Baroque flute, and the bagpipes will be featured. Returning performers include Mark Kellogg, RPO Principal Trombonist, the RPO String Quartet and the RPO Jazz rhythm section.
The fee for the entire set of eight events is $25 per Spencerport District resident and $30 for all others. Series enrollment is limited to 100 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Completed registration forms and checks made payable to the Spencerport Music Association are to be postmarked by Friday, December 15 or delivered to Cosgrove Middle School by the close of school on Monday, December 18. Forms and fees are to be sent to: Dr. Marcia Bornhurst Parkes, SpenceRPOrt Concert Connection Series, Cosgrove Middle School, 2749 Spencerport Road, Spencerport, NY 14559.
