Gough, Lorraine M., December 16, 2000 at age 87. Mother of Roberta Gough and Bonnie Brinkman; also surviving are three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren; and one niece. Predeceased by three brothers, and two sisters; mother-in-law of the late Richard N. Brinkman Sr.; wife of the late Kenneth G. Gough.

Ierlan, Frederick C., December 12, 2000 at age 66. Survived by his wife, Ruth P. Ierlan; children, Michele (Darren) Carstairs, Melissa (Fred Seeman) Ierlan and Michael (Karen) Ierlan; five grandsons; sister, Sally Russell; brother, William (Barbara) Ierlan; sister-in-law, Teresa Walker; aunt, Bette Grant; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the American Legion Clayton Post.

HAMLIN
Cooling, John C. Sr., December 18, 2000 at age 53, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his children, Krista, Dana Cooling and John C. Cooling Jr. His mother Thelma Cooling; his sister, Carla (Richard) Webb; his devoted friend, Diane Small; niece and nephew, Katie Webb and Matthew Felice; also survived by many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Charles Cooling. John was a retiree of Hilton Central School and a Nothnagle Realtor.

Silka, Max J., On December 1, 2000. He lived in Hamlin for 11 years before moving earlier this year to Spencerport. He lived most of his life in Amsterdam, New York, where he ran the family dairy farm. He is survived by his wife, Winifred (Wyzykowski) Silka; his daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Bill Leonard of Brockport; a sister, Frances Alikonis of Amsterdam; sister-in-law, Gertrude Wyzykowski of Queensbury; one niece; two nephews; and beloved cat, Speedy. He was a member of the Hamlin and Sweden Senior Centers.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Stanislaus Church, Amsterdam, on December 4. Interment St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam. Memorials can be made to the Genesee Region Home Care, 70 Metro Park, Rochester 14623 or Mass can be dedicated in his memory.

Brooks, Frances A., Suddenly, December 18, 2000 Frances A. Brooks in her 100th year. Survived by her daughters, Frances (Mervin) LeBlanc and Bonita Fitzgerald; her sisters, Monica Scheuring, Ruth Fallesen and Anna (Cliff) Lloyd; her brother, Daniel Tubbs; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by two daughters, Eileen (Carl) McMillen of California, Norma (John) Berardicurti of Spencerport; five grandchildren, Renee (Brett) Claggett, Kathy (Michael) Kelley, Sarah, Jamie and Katie Berardicurti; four great grandsons; his sister, Dora (Harold) Jones; and his brother, Peter Hebblethwaite, both of England; several nieces and nephews.
