Spencerport teams earn scholar athlete awards
The Spencerport Central Schools' Athletic Department has announced that seven of eight fall athletic teams qualified for the NYSPHSAA Team Scholar Athlete Award during the Fall 2000 season. In order to qualify, a team must have a team grade point average of 90 percent or above.
The student-athletes who qualified on the girls swim team are: Kristee Ayles, Shannon Crooks, Sandra Czelusniak, Lindsey Demers, Julie Hengenius, Julia Klocke, Robyn Mance, Natalie Mitchel, Kara Placito, Katie Tyner and Meghan Weinpress.
Those who qualified on the boys cross country team are: Robert Fenity, Jeremy Gargano, Nathaniel Lowe, David Hossenlopp, Corey McWilliams, Patrick Moore and Andrew Volpe.
Qualifying from the girls tennis team are: Angela Battisti, Amy D'Urbano, Amanda Marou, Stacy McCullough, Elisa Pompili, Regina Sanfilipo, Robin Sterling, Karrie Thorpe and Stephani Wolfe.
The student-athletes who qualified from the girls soccer team are: Crystal Castellano, Erinn Cullingworth, Kristina Galante, Beth Huss, Lauren Mack, Jennifer MacMullen, Ashley Mauro, Megan O'Brien, Danielle Powers, Kathryn Poweski, Megan Reising, Elizabeth Turley, Mary Ellen Uschold.
Those who qualified from the football team are: Robert Burch, Brandon Clayton, Justin Colby, Anthony Covella, Michael DeBole, Michael Dermody, Alexander Kordovski, Joseph Kosciol, Benjamin Plucknette, Brandon Pratt, Daniel Schreiner, Patrick Stevens.
Qualifying from the boys soccer team are: Michael Bourne, Richard Calabrese, Anthony Colaprete, Meno Droegmoeller, Jeffrey Eagan, Jason Gringer, Adam Hare, Ryan Palma, Ricki Pavia, Christopher Profeta, Michael Somers and Ian Spitzer.
The student-athletes who qualified from the girls cross country team are: Caitlin Cassidy, Carrie Hoestermann, Patricia Johnson, Meghan Olney, Candice Rockwell, Kimberly Root, and Melissa Scroger.
