Snowmobiling open at Letchworth
Letchworth State Park snowmobile maps and permits are now available. The map shows the snowmobile trails in the park and area connecting trails as well as providing the rules and regulations for snowmobile use in the park.
The park is open for snowmobile use when a minimum of three inches of snow cover is present. Night snowmobiling is allowed by permit only. To obtain a free Snowmobile Use Permit and State Park identification sticker contact the park Visitor Center or Park Police Headquarters. Permits are also available at Trailside Lodge when open for winter recreation on weekends. All snowmobiles must be registered and insured.
Snowmobiles may access the park through the Mt. Morris, Perry and Portageville entrances only. Parking for snowmobilers is available at the Highbanks Recreation Area at the north end of the park and at Trailside Lodge in the south. Snowmobilers should obey all signage and use only designated areas and trails.
