The Brockport Clarkson Sweden Joint Recreation Commission has announced the winner of its 2000 Community Service Award. Brockport Central School District Superintendent James Fallon will receive the prestigious award at an April 5 banquet.

The award is given annually to a community member who has given enormously of their time and talent to youth and/or adult recreation programs.

"Jim is an A number-one supporter of recreation for youth and adults in our community," said Brockport trustee and commission member James Whipple. "He enables things to happen. He figures out how to make things work. Jim goes way beyond the official duties of his job. His constant presence at meets, games and programs lets the kids and adults know he cares."
