Bright Raven Gymnastics teams win second place
Bright Raven Gymnastics Level 6 and 4 Teams finished in second place at the Graffiti Invitational held January 5-7 at the Niagara Falls Convention Center. The Bright Raven Level 5 team earned third place. Each team brought home a banner to signify their accomplishment.
In the Level 6 competition for gymnasts age 12 and over, Jackie VanDeWater of Churchville captured first place in vaulting. She scored a 9.175 for that first place win among 47 gymnasts. Kerry Apeland of Chili finished fifth all around with a score of 35.025 and also placed third on the uneven bars (8.85) and sixth on floor (9.125). In the 10-11 age division, Jenna Easton of Churchville took second place in vaulting (8.825), sixth place on beam (8.4) and fifth all around (33.65). Julie Mingoia of Spencerport earned fourth place on beam (8.65) and sixth place in vaulting (8.6). Larissa Bolalek of Greece was fourth on the uneven bars (8.75).
The Level 5 team earned many individual honors also with Martha Bauer of Chili taking fourth all around (34.75) and sixth on beam (8.65) in the 12 and over division. Kara Contomanolis of Chili was fifth all around (34.625) and also took a fifth place on the uneven bars (9.325). Michelle Martello of Gates finished second on balance beam (9.075). Lindsey Paladino of Chili earned sixth place in vaulting (8.25). Competing in the 9-11 age division in a field of 52 gymnasts, Megan Seuffert of Gates was second in vaulting (8.65) and fifth on bars (9.425). Amber Kober of Ogden finished fourth on bars with a 9.45.
Sixty gymnasts competed in the 9-11 age division of the Level 4 competition where Maura Wojak of Chili took second all around (34.775) and also placed second on beam (9.4), fourth in vaulting (8.5) and fifth in floor exercise (8.85). In the same division, Kara Golis of Churchville captured a first place on the balance beam (9.45), second on the uneven bars (9.05), second in floor exercise (9.075) and sixth all around (34.275). Alyssa Kober of Ogden took sixth place on floor (8.85). Amanda Arcieri of Chili earned sixth on beam (9.075). In the 6-8 age division, Katie Kisker of Chili placed fifth on beam (8.775) and tied for fifth place on floor. In the Level 4 competition for gymnasts age 12 and over, Erin Kolb earned second place on beam (9.0), fourth place on bars, fifth place on vault, sixth place in floor exercise and third all around (33.55). Allison Grove was fourth all around (32.925) and placed fourth in vaulting and third on the uneven bars. Bethany Ayers of Churchville took sixth all around (32.375) and placed third on balance beam and floor exercise. Kyle Holley took third place in vaulting.
