GCC offers computer seminars
Area residents interested in learning more about the internal workings of computers are invited to join Genesee Community College's "Understanding Computers" workshop at the Orleans Campus Center, Mondays, February 5 to March 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. The workshop will also be offered at the Batavia Campus, Saturdays, February 10 to March 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
"Understanding Computers" is not a typical computer workshop. Although the workshop will cover popular software applications, it also explores the "inside" of computer operation: storage capacity, memory, the workings of data ports, hardware issues, and computer security. The workshop is ideal for individuals installing personal or business networks, or for anyone curious about the internal operations of computer systems.
During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn computer principles in modern computers laboratories at the Orleans Campus Center or Batavia Campus.
Individuals who wish to register or learn more about the program may call the Orleans Campus Center at 589-4936 or the Batavia Campus at 345-6999.
