Chili Senior Center programs
The following programs are offered at the Chili Senior Center, 3235 Chili Avenue. Call 889-6185 for information.
Beginning Oil Painting - Mondays, February 26 - April 2 (6 weeks) from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $25 plus supplies. Supplies run approx. $13 and may be purchased at first class. Participants must provide a smock or old shirt, small towel, small glass jar for turpentine and a photo (or photo quality picture) of the item or scene you wish to paint. The class is instructed by Darlene Zoricak. Stop in or phone to register.
Mall Walking - at Marketplace Mall every Tuesday morning during the winter months. Transportation will be provided to the mall from the Senior Center. The bus leaves the center at 8:30 a.m. and returns approximately 11:00 a.m. There is no fee for this program. Participants will have 1-1/2 hours to walk at their own pace and visit with others. $1 per week.
Tuesday Talks - educational and interesting presentations each Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. A guest speaker will be featured each week. Coffee provided.
January 30 - Tom Rodwell, Monroe County Crime Lab; February 6 - Robert Zerby, Jr., Medical Examiner; February 13 - Terry Slaybaugh, Greater Rochester Airport; February 20 - Terry Rice, Monroe County Transportation Department; February 27 - Jim Carra, Veterans' Services; March 6 - On Location, Greg Thomas, 911 Center; March 13 - Gary Pence, Public Safety; March 20 - Carol Podgorski, Center for Lifetime Wellness; March 27 - Tom Sinclair, Monroe County Environmental Services.
Tai Chi - classes every Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Improve health and fitness, reduce stress, increase your energy level and develop peace and inner calm. Class taught by staff from Northern Martial Arts. $20 per month. Stop in or phone to register.
Senior Singers - Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. The Senior Singing Group is directed by Helen Halligan from the Hochstein School of Music. All singing enthusiasts are welcome.
