Jaime Dengal, a senior at Kendall High School, was selected for the second year as a student ambassador by the People to People Program. Last year Dengal traveled to England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. This past summer she went to Australia and New Zealand for three weeks with 40 students and four adults leaders. Dengal is the daughter of Judith Dengal and resides in Holley.


Suzanne M. Ley graduated from the University of Buffalo in May earning a bachelor ofarts degree, magna cum laude/Phi Beta Kappa in Political Science with a minor in Russian Language. She had been honored with membership in the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, the Golden Key National Honor Society, Who's Who Among American University Students and the National Dean's List. She was also a member in Pi Sigma Epsilon, a national business fraternity, the University level of the Model United Nations and was Academic Clubs Coordinator for the Student Association, in which she also served as vice president.

Ley is now living in Uzbekistan, a former Soviet Republic in Central Asia, where she will be teaching Business and English at the university level, as a member of the Peace Corp. Ley is the daughter of Harold and Peggy Ley of Ogden and is a 1995 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Bonnie Sandera has been named Recreation and Community Service Director for the Town of Riga. She has most recently been employed as Youth Program Director for the Town of Ogden. Prior to moving to Rochester, Sandera was employed by the YMCA of Greater Houston, where she managed several recreation and community programs. Sandera's main focus will be to increase the quality and enrollment of the Summer Camp and Senior Citizens program. She resides in Ogden with husband, Mike and sons, Kevin and Gregory.


Deran L. Bissonette, of Spencerport, received a bachelors of arts degree in political science from Michigan State University in May.


Marine Corps Lt. Col. Sheila M. Scanlon, daughter of Rose T. and Louis T. Quadrini of Hilton, recently assumed command of Headquarters and Service Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group, Camp Pendleton, California. Prior to assuming command, Scanlon was the commanding officer of Marine Forces Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia. She also served at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Kirkland Air Force Base, New Mexico and at the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan.

Scanlon's personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal and three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals. Scanlon is a 1975 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. She is a 1979 graduate of University of Notre Dame, Indiana.


Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Peter J. Donofrio, son of Teddie J. and Michael J. Donofrio of Chestnut Drive, Rochester, recently graduated from the Navy's Basic Nuclear Power School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Goose Creek, South Carolina.

With his newly acquired knowledge, Donofrio is prepared to operate a reactor on a nuclear powered submarine or aircraft carrier, ensuring the availability of propulsion and power. Donofrio is a 1999 graduate of Gates Chili Senior High School.


Army Reserve Pvt. Craig J. Kitt has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Kitt received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history and traditions. He is the son of Kathleen M. Kitt of Batavia and nephew of Don J. Vlack Jr. of Brockport.


Dorothy Swingle of Braeview Realty is top sales person for the year 2000. She has been with Braeview Realty for almost 23 years and is a realtor and an associate broker. Besides selling residential property, she has also personally bought land, auctioned property and handled HUD foreclosures. In addition to buying and selling real estate, Swingle is a commissioner for Hilton Parma Recreation, has worked on various Hilton village and Parma town committees, and is a member of the Uptown Girls Investment Club.


Sherry Andrews of the Nothnagle Hilton Office was designated Sales Person of the Month for the month of December.

Andrews has lived in the Hilton-Parma area for many years and has been selling real estate for 25 years.

She is a licensed Real Estate Broker and a multi-million dollar producer, according to company representatives.


Millie Dibble of the Nothnagle Hilton Office was designated Sales Person of the Month for the month of November. Dibble has been a resident of Ogden, Parma and Clarkson for 41 years. And has been selling real estate for 15 years.

She is a licensed Real Estate Broker and received first in service-New York State third quarter award in 1991. She is also a million dollar producer, according to company representatives.
