Brockport residents to discuss contamination with environmental attorney
Brockport Village residents, weary of what they consider a lack of response from industrial giants General Electric and 3M to pollution in and around the forming manufacturing sites, are hosting a community meeting on Sunday, February 11 at 10:30 a.m. in the Student Union Ballroom at SUNY Brockport. Present at the meeting will be California-based attorney Ed Masry, of Erin Brockovich frame, who according to resident Kathy Snyder, has agreed to take on the homeowners' case against General Electric and 3M.
A NYS Department of Environmental Conservation investigation has been on-going for several years. Although some remediation has taken place, hazardous waste materials are still present in soils and groundwater.
