Rochester hosts MS walk April 1
The annual MS Walk in Rochester is slated for Sunday, April 1.
The 2001 MS Walk begins at 9 a.m. (registration starts at 8 a.m.) at the Al Sigl Center (door 1). Participants can choose to walk an approximate accessible three-mile or approximate 10-mile route, which winds through the city and returns back to the Al Sigl Center. Rest stops will offer snacks and beverages along the route.
The Rochester site is one of 15 sites that will be hosting in the 2001 MS Walk in the Upstate New York area and is expecting 1,700 walkers, which brings the total to more than 5,500 people taking part in the MS Walk in Upstate New York to help raise $600,000 for this 25 county region. Walks will also take place in Brockport and in Webster.
Funds raised from the 2001 MS Walk will be used to provide programs and services to more than 4,000 people with MS who live in Upstate New York as well as to support research on the cause, new treatments and a possible cure for MS.
