Saints clinch first ever division title
The Churchville-Chili girl's basketball team defeated Spencerport 67-46 February 6 and clinched the first title in the 26-year history of the program.
Churchville-Chili led by 14 points after the first quarter, 22 points at half-time and extended the lead to as many as 27 points. The Saints had four different players scoring in double figures with senior Anna Marshall leading the way with 15 points. Seniors Sha'Wanna Cooper had 14 points and Shanna Cyrus added 13 with sophomore Joanna Patalanao chipping in 10 points. Cyrus' 13 points gave her 840 in her career, which is the most in school history.
For the Rangers, sophomore Lisa Eberhart led all scorers with 17 points while Rachael Alvarez and Emily Beale each scored 8 points.
At press time, the Saints were 16-2, 9-1 and ranked #1 in Class A heading into the sectional playoffs.
