Robert J. Rohr, Jr., former Kodak executive, dies at 92

Robert J. Rohr, Jr. 92, died February 19, 2001 in his home in Fort Myers, Florida after a short illness. Mr. Rohr was born in Rochester on March 22, 1908 and lived there and then in Spencerport until his retirement in 1973. He was the Director of Industrial Engineering for Eastman Kodak Company. He initiated the Health and Human Factors laboratory at Kodak and was instrumental in beginning the Kodak suggestion program. He lectured widely throughout the country in the 1950s and 1960s on human factors in industry.

Mr. Rohr was a long-time member of the Spencerport School Board of Education during this period, overseeing his vision become reality: the development of the Spencerport "campus" of schools in the large building phase during the 1950s and early 1960s.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Harriett Sheehan Rohr; his daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Brenon P. Caton of Spencerport; his son and daughter-in-law Dr. and Mrs. Robert J. Rohr III of Stowe, Vermont; four grandchildren, Dr. Scott Caton and Kym Caton Woodard, both of Spencerport, Miranda Rohr McGovern of Chico, California, and Eric Rohr of Stowe, Vermont; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service was held February 22 in Fort Myers. He will be interred at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester.

BROCKPORT

•Vembre, Baltrus, February 18, 2001. Survived by his wife, Joyce. Predeceased by his first wife, Elsie. Survived by step-children, Douglas (Mary Kay) Tyner, Joan (Colin) Charles, Janice (Thomas) Payne, Jill (Michael) Gruschow; 11 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Ellinwood; brother-in-law, Larry (Tina) Gruendike and family in Lithuania.

Funeral Services were held at the New Apostolic Church. Interment Grove Place Cemetery. Those wishing can make contributions to the Memorial Fund of Lakeside Memorial Hospital in his memory.

•Delesky, Leonard J. "Ski," February 13, 2001. Predeceased by his son, Richard. Survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughters, Elizabeth (Bruce) Erbelding, Catherine (Douglas) Wetmore, and son, Robert (Janet); eight grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass was held February 17 at St. Christopher's Church, North Chili. Spring interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dover, New Hampshire. Donations can be made in his name to St. Christopher's Building Fund or Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse, 1437 Blossom Road, Rochester 14610.


HILTON

•Russell, Yuthud L., February 14, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frank; daughters, Yuthud (Jim) Oberdick of Virginia and Darrah (Tom) Casperson of Ohio; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sister, Patricia Kennedy of Florida. She was a member of Deerfield Country Club.

A Memorial Service was held February 17 at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home. Contributions can be made to The Rochester Eye Bank or Church of the Master.


•Young, Jonathan O., February 17, 2001. Survived by his companion, Kathy Mullen; sons, Hugh (Carrie) Dougall and Raymond Young; daughters, Angela Dougall, Yvonne Donaldson, Jassette (Samuel) Cummings, Jannette Young, Marcia Collins and Grace (Phil) Carleton; also 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

•Richards, Carol A. (Fleck), On February 12, 2001 at the age of 58. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim; sons, James H. and John R. Richards; father and step-mother, Robert and Kristen Fleck; brother, John (Debbie) Fleck; mother-in-law, Martha Richards; step-brother, Michael (Lorraine) Fleck; step-sister, Christine (Dwane) Keel; several nieces and nephews.

•VanderLaan, David C., Age 79, died February 17, 2001. Predeceased by wife, Betty. Survived by son, Wayne as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held February 20 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Kendall. Interment in Mt. Albion Cemetery in the spring. Memorials can be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church, Kendall.

•Crawford, Ernest G. "Pat," February 19, 2001. Predeceased by his son, Thomas Crawford. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Crawford; children, Michael (Ann) Crawford, James (Teresa) Crawford of Dalton, NY; Ellen (Richard) Stonegraber, Patrick (Evelyn) Crawford, Timothy Crawford; 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Elleen Morrell; nieces and nephews.

•Metzger, Gertrude (Frank), Saturday, February 17, 2001 at age 70. She was predeceased by her son, Daniel J. Metzger. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Norbert F. Metzger; her daughter, Debra L. Metzger of Rochester; two sons, Douglas (Debra) Metzger of Hilton and Kevin M. Metzger of Hamlin; three grandchildren, Heidi Sarfaty, Jessica and Michael Metzger; her great-granddaughter, Ashley Sarfaty; her brother, Donald (Beverly) Frank; two sisters, Mary Celine (John) Dawes and Ruth (Gerald) Brower; several nieces and nephews. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing.

•Patton, Helen, On February 4, 2001 in Thonotosassa, Florida. She was 96. She was a resident of Spencerport until 1974 when she moved to Lakeland. She was a member of Light and Life Free Methodist Church, Lakeland. She is survived by her husband, Carl H. Patton; sons, Ronald C. Patton, Syracuse, Darrell W. Patton, Dover, Warren J. Patton, North Carolina; daughters, Shirley Hill, Clearwater, Gayle Grandy, Spencerport; 11 grandchil-dren; 15 great grandchildren.

Service were held at Lakeland Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association.


•Way, Patricia A. (MacDonald), Suddenly, February 15, 2001 at age 52. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Randy B. Way; her sisters and brothers, Geraldine (John) McPherson, Robert (Marion), John (Mary Ann), Michael (Margaret) MacDonald, Mary (David) Britton, Ann (Chris) Hodgdon, Amy (Andy) Shanahan and Peter MacDonald; her step-mother, Kathleen MacDonald; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
