Julie Hill leads Raiders on the short track
Julie Hill (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) Roberts Wesleyan College freshman has exploded into the Raiders Indoor Track record books.
Hill, in only her fifth college meet, now holds school records in both the 200 meter and 400 meter run. On Saturday, February 17 at the Hamilton Open, Hill ran a 65.10 in the 400 meter and a 28.67 in the 200 meter. For Hill, she becomes only the second woman in Raider history to record a time under 29 seconds in the 200m.
Hill tied the school's 400 meter record in the second meet of her collegiate career, running 65.4 at Buffalo State on January 27. On February 10, she lowered that mark to 65.19 at the Marc Deneault Invitational at Cornell University. She also ran 29.07 for 200 meters, the second fastest time on record at Roberts Wesleyan.
Hill ran five years of varsity track under Coach Bill Wood at Churchville-Chili where she was the Saints' Most Valuable Runner as a senior.
She is majoring in Criminal Justice at Roberts Wesleyan and is joined on the track team by her twin brother, Matt, who competes in jumps for the Raiders.
