DARE graduation to be held at St. John's
The St. John's School sixth graders have been participating in the Ogden Police Department's Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program since the beginning of the school year. The sixth grade received the core 17 week program. This program is a collaborative effort by DARE certified law enforcement officers, educators, students, parents and the community to offer an educational program in the classroom to prevent or reduce drug abuse and violence among children and youth.
The last lesson of DARE is a culminating assembly-type activity that provides an opportunity to recognize students who have participated in the program. Students will perform essays and skits and will receive certificates of achievement.
Everyone who has so generously donated to the DARE program or anyone who is interested in the DARE program, is invited to attend. This year's ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. in the school gym. Call the Ogden Police Department, 352-2131, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with any questions.
