A new scholarship will be awarded to an Orleans County graduating senior, Class of 2001. The recipient will be chosen by a committee of the Orleans County American Legion. Deadline for applications is May 1.

The scholarship winner has to be accepted into an accredited program leading to a degree in nursing. The amount of the scholarship is $500 per year for the first two years of post high school education. Applications are available in the school counselor’s office at the following schools: Albion, Holley, Kendall, Lyndonville, and Medina.

Information is also available at local American Legion Posts. Applications must include a copy of the acceptance letter from a nursing school and two letters of recommendation.
