Cadets lose to Edison in semifinals
Edison Tech ran out to a 5-0 lead to start the game and never looked back on their way to a 83-60 win over Hilton in the Class AA sectional playoff semi-finals.
The Cadets trailed by seven points after the first quarter and closed to within 11 points on an Antonio Williams lay-up with 96 seconds left in the game before Edison went on a 12-0 run to end the game. Hilton shot just 32 percent from the floor in the game.
Seniors Ryan Mee and Mike Mikolaichik each scored 19 points for Hilton and fellow senior Antonio Williams added seven to go with his team-leading eight rebounds. After the game, Mee talked about his future plans, "I need to decide whether I want to play basketball or baseball and then pick a school. I have it narrowed down to the University of Rochester, Ithaca, St. John Fisher and a few others. I had a tough game tonight, the other guys picked me up though to at least give us a chance."
Other seniors finishing their Cadet basketball careers were Josh Rapke, Josh Hernandez and Andy Barton.
