Bright Raven gymnasts compete in Niagara Cup
The Bright Raven Girls Gymnastics teams competed in the 20th annual Niagara Cup held at Canisius College in Buffalo March 9-11 earning many honors.
Krystal Kaminski of Chili competed in the Level 9 Senior Division where she placed seventh all around (34.325) in preliminaries and qualified for finals in two events. Only the top ten scoring Level 9 gymnasts qualify for finals regardless of age division. In the event finals, 16-year-old Kaminski took second place in floor exercise and third place in vaulting.
In Level 8 competition for gymnasts age 14 and over, Tracy Apeland of Chili took first place on the uneven bars, fourth place on balance beam and fifth place all around (35.15).
In Level 6 competition for gymnasts age 12 and over, Kerry Apeland of Chili took fourth place in two events, balance beam and floor exercise, and tenth all around. In the 10-11 age division, Jenna Easton of Churchville placed sixth in floor exercise and eighth in all around.
In Level 5 competition for age 9-11, Megan Seuffert of Gates placed third on uneven bars, fourth on beam and fifth all around. In the 12 and over division, Kara Contomanolis of Chili took fourth place on bars. Sabrina Hill of Hamlin earned fifth on vault and eighth all around. Michelle Martello of Gates placed fourth on beam and fifth in floor exercise. Martha Bauer of Chili was fifth on bars.
