The post-season awards are beginning to roll in for the Ogden Bears' teams, cheerleaders and football players from the 2000 season.

At the Pop Warner Little Scholars' Eastern Regional Meeting in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, the Eastern Region First Team Region Scholars individual and teams were announced and the Ogden Bears were well represented.

The Western New York Pop Warner Football Conference (formerly the Monroe County Pop Warner Football League) had 16 representatives on the All-Region Scholastic team with the Ogden Bears having six participants.

Named to the First Team All-Region Scholastic Team from the Bears were Jenna Wuest, Emily Clarke, Kaitlin Anderson, Neil O'Connell, Josh Faga and Michael Rombola.

A total of six Ogden teams were honored by the Eastern Region by finishing in the top ten in team scholastic average in 2000. In cheerleading, the Ogden Bears' Jr. Pee Wee team finished second in the Eastern Region, the Pee Wees finished sixth and the Jr. Midget cheerleading squad placed fourth.

In football, the Bears' Pee Wee ranked fourth in the Region for team average while the Jr. Midgets were ninth in the Eastern Region.

This is the first time in Bears' history where individuals and teams were honored by Eastern Region. The Eastern Region includes all Pop Warner teams in New York State, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

The National Little Scholar Pop Warner teams will be announced on Monday, April 2.
