Junior historians club starts
Are you a teenager who marches to a different drummer? Do you break away from the usual youth interests? Then consider joining the Junior Historians Club of the Gates Historical Society and help bring history to life.
Wanted are teenagers ages 12-18 with the following skills: camcorder/audio recording, web page/scanning experience, an interest in learning about the daily life of early 20th century Gates and interest in preserving primary sources of local information.
The first meeting for the Junior Historians Club will be Thursday night, March 29 in the Supervisor's Conference Room in the Gates Town Hall at 7 p.m.
The Junior Historians Club will interview longtime Gates residents' memories and record their memories either on audio or videotape. The transcripts of the final tapes will be added to the Society's web page, hosted by Rochester Free-Net's Genesee Gateway service at www.ggw.org/ghs.
