Six Spencerport winter athletic teams qualified for the NYSPHSAA Team Scholar Athlete Award during the Winter 2000-2001 season. In order to qualify, a team must have a team grade point average of 90 percent or above.

The teams that qualified, their grade point average and coaches were: Boys Swimming - 92.724 - Eileen Buck; Girls Basketball - 92.269 - Don Wierzchowski; Hockey - 91.998 - Tom Donnelly; Girls Indoor Track - 91.580 - Paul Sikorski; Boys Basketball - 91.083 - Michael Blackwell; Girls Volleyball - 90.604 - Amy Burbano.

Boys Swimming student-athletes who qualified are: Matthew Diehl, David Hossenlopp, Douglas Markant, Christopher Page, Jason Phillips, Matthew Russell, Joshua DeRuyter, Robert Fenity, Zachary Grobengieser, Jonathan Hogue, Douglas Bennett.

Girls Basketball student-athletes who qualified are: Melissa Garwol, Kelly Jacoutot, Stephanie Tandy, Megan O'Brien, Danielle Powers, Kathleen Radel, Candice Rockell.

Hockey student-athletes who qualified are: Joseph Gionta, Joseph Azzarone, Philip Mannix, Colin McCloskey, Christopher Mark, Michael Maynard, Gerald Pucillo, Christopher Farnsworth.
