Two people in the Hilton community were recognized for their exceptional service to family, school and community at Parent University on March 24: Hamlin Town Council Member Ed Evans, second from left, and Village of Hilton Historian Mary Townsend. The awards were presented to Evans and Townsend by Hamlin Supervisor Austin Warner III, left, and Mayor William Carter of the Village of Hilton, right. Both citizens received "honorary diplomas" for lifetimes of activism and involvement, "role models for us all," according to Mayor Carter. Parent University attracted over 130 participants for a day of workshops and seminars on parenting skill development held at Hilton High School.
