Student athletes recognized in
Kendall schools
On Monday, April 9, Kendall Central School participated in the celebration of National Student-Athlete Day. National Student-Athlete Day was created to honor student-athletes who have pursued excellence both in the classroom and on the playing field, while having made significant contributions to their schools and/or communities. The event is nationally recognized and is co-sponsored by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports, Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Sport in Society, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). Each student-athlete that receives this award must be in grades 9-12, maintain at least a B average, and be committed to their school and/or community.
The following Kendall Junior-Senior High School Student-Athletes were selected by their respective coaches to receive this award: Caleb Hennekey-Boys Track, Lindsay Rodas-Volleyball, Jenna Gaesser-Girls Track, Matt Bertrand-JV Baseball, Ashley Rath-JV Volleyball, Brendan Gaesser-Cross Country, Laura Gaesser-JV Girls Basketball, Ann Bliss-JV Softball, Torry Tooley-Boys JV Soccer, Wes Marchand-JV Boys Basketball, Kristina Lynch-Girls JV Soccer, and Chris Beres-JV Wrestling.
