Senior housing and care facilities
sponsor seminar on services
Seniors, their families, and their caregivers are invited to attend a special seminar on senior services by Lorraine V. Anderson, Director of the Monroe County Office for the Aging (MCOFA). The seminar is free and open to the public, and will be held on Thursday, May 10, at 3:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Valley Manor Apartments, 1570 East Avenue. Light refreshments will be served. For additional information, call 256-4309.
Anderson will present information on the various types of senior housing in Monroe County, along with details on what to look for and how to select the appropriate type of housing for a particular individual. This will be followed by an informal question and answer session.
"We in Monroe County are fortunate to have a wide selection of housing types for seniors of all ages and stages of health," Anderson explained. "However, that very abundance sometimes makes it difficult to choose. I will explain the options and provide seminar-goers with information to help them make informed choices for themselves and their loved ones."
The seminar is sponsored by Valley Manor, Kirkhaven and Rochester Presbyterian Home as part of their Older Americans Month (May) activities.
